Awesome track! 😊 Love the vibes! Classic 90s house just as I like it! 😊 This video makes me want to buy the Machine mk3. It is just to bad it is not a stand alone unit. Means less portability.

Dude, you’re like my new answer to the question, “who would you strive to be more like in your life.” You just put together the grooviest, complex sounding, but explained simply how you made it, bop. It honestly puts over half the the currently popular deep house artists to shame. I use deep house kinda as a blanket term from like garage house to 90s classic to whatever type of house dirtybird is… I don’t know anymore with the sun genres everyone has a different definition lol. But keep killin it please! ❤
@PeterRobotMusic Жыл бұрын
That's a massive compliment, thanks! Yeah everyone has a different definition of sub genres, I'm always kind of taking a broad stab when I label my videos, then sometimes I look back later and I'm like "jk, that's not deep tech." These will definitely keep coming out, stay tuned. Cheers man!

@retron2738 Жыл бұрын
Whats missing here is basically how you structure your song in the hardware. Which sound on which Group/scene/pattern whatever. Thats what iam missing for tutorial reasons.
@PeterRobotMusic Жыл бұрын
The broad strokes is that I put each main element in it's own group - in this case brass synth in A, arp in B, bass in C, tops in D, drums in E, and vox in G. Then in each group, I'll put different variations of the element in different banks - for example, group A has 4 different variants of the brass synth in banks 1-4. Or were you referring more towards arrangement in a linear sense?
@retron2738 Жыл бұрын
@@PeterRobotMusic Cool ... you answered! Thanks for this ... I feel like I'm missing a bit of the workflow towards an arrangement that I can export without "scenes, patterns, groups, etc." getting in the way, because I may not understand them. Your video, in the end, is a complete arrangement. But maybe my limitations are to big for now to understand whats between your cuts. But anyway ... maybe a special question which can help other, too ... is there a way to play patterns ans scenes on beat / sync to the playing pattern?
@PeterRobotMusic Жыл бұрын
@@retron2738 Ok, I see. There are a few things to say here. At the end of my video, I am triggering each scene in real time, so the arrangement itself is not committed to the grid for export, rather I'm just triggering the scenes into a live arrangement for the video. To answer your question - in order to do this, yes, you can set the Maschine to play the scenes on the beat. Hit Shift + Grid to access the grid page, select "perform" and set it to "1 Bar". This will set Maschine to change to the next scene that you hit only after the current bar has finished playing; this is what I do. You can also set it to change after 1/2 note, quarter, etc. As far as creating an arrangement in the arrangement view that you can export, that's a whole other can of worms. It's one of maschine's least intuitive features. I think I'm going to make a full video on that since people ask about it a lot. In the meantime there are a couple decent tutorials on on YT that can help if you search for it.

Your piece and video are really good. I really like it. Now, could you tell me the difference between the Maschine MK3 and the Plus? Thanks to you.
@PeterRobotMusic Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven't used the Maschine Plus, but my understanding is that it's basically the same as the MK3, except that it's self contained hardware, whereas the MK3 has to be connected to your PC and runs the software from your PC.
@krimsonfunk2 ай бұрын
Great track… do you mind telling me what sample you used for the bass, is it from any particular collection ?
@PeterRobotMusic2 ай бұрын
Sure. It's actually a Massive preset called Dry n Wet.
@matthewwilson36732 жыл бұрын
does the mk3 come with a daw to record into? pretty unfamiliar with maschine workflow
@PeterRobotMusic2 жыл бұрын
It does. Maschine is a DAW, and the MK3 brings it to life, so it's like a DAW/hardware hybrid.

@@fraicheness Oh cool man! I do have a great resource for sure. Adsrsounds.com has a thorough guide for learning the MK3. On top of that, they have a multitude of production, software, mixing and theory courses as well. I've upped my game a lot the last year taking their courses. I recommend them regularly.
