Thank you, thank you! I've been searcing for a solution other than just rolling up fabric. While you have phenomenally outfitted shop, I believe I can duplicate your method with what I have in my shop. Your attention to detail is similar to my own. Thank you for making this video. 👍

Glad this technique was useful to you. I just completed two more jewelry boxes today using that same method. Steve

This is what I’ve been looking for. I made a small box to hold the engagement ring for my girlfriend and I’ve just been trying to figure out a way to hold it in place. I saw I could roll up the fabric, but that felt a little weird I guess. And I like how little materials you actually need.

Hi 👋, Steve, very nice jewelbox, I came across your channel an hour ago, you were comparing the Festool domino versus the DD Dowel Joyner by MAFELL , and the Triton , no comparison from either machine, the Mafell wins hands down every time, I purchased mine many many years ago when they first came out, I was doing a lot of cabinetry bookcase work, I especially like the machine as you can buy a track that you can use for doing the pinholes for adjustable shelving, I’ve looked at quite a few of your other KZbin territorials , it looks like you have got a similar workshop to myself, I am now retired, though I might be restarting work again, as a artisan, as I now live in France, I come from the UK originally, but due to unforeseen circumstances back in 2019, I’ve moved to France, I had been scammed by my ex female partner, I have been looking at at some point purchasing a small palm router, which I believe that Mafell has just brought out a new model Lo55 which I think could be quite useful as I am trying to make a jig at the moment to operate on my Watkin RS8 woodworking lathe, i’m trying to do floating and hopefully helix, 🧬, I do have two or three other types of router, the OF2200 and 1010 and LO65 Mafell , I think it would be very good if they made a cordless version, though on my jig that I’m making, it would be the 240 V version, Something I have been looking for is over many years , is somebody to do a review and a comparison on the two best large routers, Festool 2200 versus Mafell 65 , I have got both, and for quite a lot of work the festool is a very good machine, BUT it lack power, in my opinion, the MAFELL is a superior machine, in my property in France , I had to replace 24 floor joists as the end of them had rotted out in the walls, so I made a jig first of all out of MDF, I believe the original one is made by Arunda / Ligna tools 100m , when I thought I’d got all my angles and depth, correct, higher than had a firm, make me two aluminium plates with some adjustable fencing for it, on my first or second attempt of doing this joint. I started to have problems with my Festool router, loads of sparks coming from my armature, I had only had it for less than a year, so I took it back and they rebuilt it, meanwhile, I needed a router, and this is where I went out and brought the Mafell Lo 65ec , super piece of kit, The dovetail cutter that I was using for doing the joints was very big, Never had a problem with the Mafell , Done 24 dovetail joints for my new floor joists which went into a wall plate, I still have a my tools, all my sander’s are Festool , 5/6, . Mafell , jigsaw, chain, mortising machine, door lock, mortising machine, Felder spindle moulder K7 10Hp sawbench . SMC planner, Class S520, and Class 450 planer , Wadkin EKA 5/4 , with all Leitz tooling, as well for the spindle moulder, I forgot to mention that I have the Festool track saw 75 mil, Great machine for cutting sheet material, i.e. MDF, plywood et cetera, But if you are ripping down, lumber sections, I would definitely go for the Mafell MKS 185 at least, I do believe they do some bigger ones still than this, these are definitely big boys toys, That’s enough of me gambling on , trouble would be an old, living by myself, no need to talk to, I wish you all the success for the New Year , and I look forward to listening and watching your next review or project, stay safe. Phil from the moulin France .

Thank youi Phil. You have an awesome shop and sounds like you should make a video comparing the Festool and Mafell routers. I have 4 Mafell tools (3 saws and the Duo-doweler) and my impression is they seem to be more powerful than the Festool counterparts at a cost that makes Festool appear like a budget brand. Festool has released a lot of new product last year and seems to have upped their game on saws. My dealer has ordered me the new TSV60K which should be in within the next week or so. I did use the Festool reps demo and was quite impressed with the quality of cut which rivals that of my Martin slider with scoring. Happy New Year. Steve

Nice work Steve. What kind of scalpel are you using? Seems very sharp, might be a good marking knife too?

Thanks Michael. The blades are Swann Morton in a #3 handle. They are extremely sharp but they have a bevel on each side of the blade so I don't think they would make a good marking knife. Steve
