I was super into bugs as a kid. I'd say those are beetle tracks. A bigger kind like a stink bug, a June beetle, or since you're in a wood shop, maybe a borer beetle.🪲

I just looked on your website to see what your wood art pieces were priced at and I was very surprised at what you are charging. I think you should definitely be changing more. These are one of a kind works of art. Because they are made using wood and its natural personality and character, there will never be another piece like it anywhere. You could easily charge so much more for your beautiful one of a kind pieces.

12:50 - what an interesting pattern of footprints! With the smear in between the two sides, it's got to be dragging its belly on the ground, which makes me think "snake" but of course, snakes wouldn't have the legs to make those little pockmarks on either side. So it has pointy-ended legs, belly very low to the ground, and no apparent change in speed... Yeah, the centipede guess is pretty likely. It'll depend on where you live, what's native to your area, etc. This is a STELLAR bit of footprint recording, tho! You'll likely have better luck asking Reddit, I'm sure there's a page for ID'ing animal tracks. Feeling honestly inspired by the McD's drive thru story - make them feel guilty, and grateful, and then cheated, AND shamed, by having to go around AGAIN and wait in line FOR LONGER. It's the perfect 'punishment fits the crime' and you didn't do any crime yourself in the process!

Cool project. BTW a mile is 5,280 feet or 63,360 inches. The USA was considering going metric during the great depression, but then WWII hit and there was no time considering that all machine tools were set up in Imperial measurements. So many tools were made during the war, that no one wanted to change. On a different note, have you ever considered blending gold flake into slightly tinted epoxy?

Here are three traffic safety statistics comparing the UK and the USA: 1. Road Fatalities: The UK had 1,695 road deaths in 2022, while the USA had 42,795 road deaths in the same year. This reflects a significantly higher fatality rate in the USA due to its larger population and higher vehicle miles traveled. 2. Fatality Rate per 100,000 People: In 2022, the UK had a road fatality rate of approximately 2.5 deaths per 100,000 people, whereas the USA had a much higher rate of around 12.9 deaths per 100,000 people. 3. Alcohol-Related Traffic Deaths: In the UK, 13% of road deaths involved alcohol-impaired drivers, compared to 28% in the USA, showing a higher prevalence of alcohol-related crashes in the USA.

Driving in a country where everyone drives on the same side, whichever it may be, I don't think it's a factor when it comes to accidents. However, it is a problem when someone who drives on the right goes to a country where they drive on the left, or vice versa.

As an Australian, changing which side we drive on would mean that every car would have to swap from the wheel being on the right to the left. Also some people may want to/have to relearn how to drive. Among other things, there may be more I don’t know about like road rules and stuff, I don’t have my license yet. Also it looks so cool! I’d buy it if I could afford it and if I had anywhere to put it.

Yes, there are surely a million reasons why changing the driving side would be very complicated.

@ the main thing that I didn’t think of before is that it would also have to happen all at once. Every car, every road, every driver, basically overnight. Also because we don’t have any land neighbours and the closest neighbours in south eat Asia are also on the left, your point of “it’s easier to go internationally” also isn’t too relevant. It definitely is in the UK though, and Suriname and Guyana in South America.

Good morning, thank you for sharing with us the stages of the process of creating your works of art. I also have a passion for wood and have kept some logs in the hope of one day being able to do what you do. At the moment I let them mature so that they lose humidity. However, I was wondering one thing. How do you manage to cut dry wood without having to constantly change or sharpen the chainsaw chain? I'm asking you because when I tried to cut dry wood the chain didn't even last two cuts. Is a particular model of chain necessary?
@marmotaworks
@marmotaworks 2 ай бұрын
You need to use high-quality chains and let the saw move forward on its own without applying pressure. It also depends on the type of wood. This one, for example, was quite soft, and the chains held up well.
@nicolaluongo4457

Thank you so much, keep it up💪🏻. I would really like to be able to learn all the techniques and skills to be able to create a painting starting from a log of wood. Have you ever thought about expanding your business with training? I'm sure you would find many kids interested in wanting to learn. I would be the first😁

How about setting your bandsaw table at a 45 degree angle then cutting around the top taking 25~40 mm off the edge. Might help to save some grinding time. Just thinking out loud. Any thoughts ???? Love you show. Awesome stuff. Love from Canada.

@@marmotaworks You cut out the edges according to the template. You make a cut at the top of each part using an angle cutter. You're gluing it together. You fill the edges with epoxy resin (sparingly)

Honestly, I’ve been unsure about the gloves. Some people use these protective gloves, while others don’t wear any at all. I think next time I won’t use gloves. On second thought, it could be much worse with them.
