I have a tip for you regarding the hot melt glue. In my work I inspect machined parts to a 3d model using a CMM, to speed things up rather than clamping parts to the inspection table we use hot melt glue, if the shape allows. Now here is the tip, put the thinnest amount of IPA on the glue and capillary action draws it between the glue and object releasing the adhesive instantly. Would work a dream for you rather than the microwave plus the glue comes away in a big solid lump so is not messy at all.
@zimmtex
@zimmtex 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip, I will have to give that a try!

You can flame polish the lexan edges also and make the look great. Just takes a butane torch
@zimmtex

I haven't quite mastered that technique; I keep overdoing it and melting the lexan. Maybe my torch is too hot or too close or something.

Great work. Love your videos! Couple of questions regarding paint. I notice when using Createx (not ink) you put it directly from the bottle. Do you thin it? And what pressure do you spray at? Once again excellent.
@zimmtex
@zimmtex 2 жыл бұрын
I usually add a little thinner to the whole bottle if needed so that it is ready to spray. I have a regulator on my setup so that I can control it better. Depending on what I'm spraying I usually regulate between 20 & 40 psi. Thanks for watching!

So I have watched about 2 dozen of your videos now, and in every one of them, when you put the baking soda in, and then the drop of super glue, the super glue dissipates throughout the baking soda in about half a second. Whenever I do it- the superglue balls up on top of the baking soda and just sits there and dries up, its frustrating as hell. Is there something else you are doing with the baking soda that makes it suck up the super glue so fast, or is it a special brand of super glue? I started using epoxy instead, and then sanding it off afterwards because i get tired of the superglue making a mess of my lures.
@zimmtex
@zimmtex 3 жыл бұрын
First off, thanks for watching my videos! I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with superglue and baking soda. I don't think I'm doing anything special; the brands I'm using are Arm & Hammer baking soda with Insta-cure glue (the thin version). The only thing I can think of is that your glue might be too thick. What brand of glue are you using?
