We'll be building a simple knife vise in this video. I 100% use a vise like this on every knife I make! It's an extremely handy tool for the knife making and I couldn't live without mine.

Hey, I made one of these about two years ago, had some medical issues and had to take a year off of knife making . I’m just about ready to use mine . Mine is spring loaded and is made out of 2x2x1/4 tubing .with aluminum plates with rubber super glued to them . I enjoyed your video, keep up the good work

Hey Nick, really appreciate it! It's honestly one of the best things I did in the beginning... being able to hold your work piece securely is extremely handy! Only took me 1/2 of a Sunday to make as well. Nothing to it really.

Great idea. Seen it and went to the shop looking for material.... I decided I will have my back plate just flat steel. (Long enough to still allow the spin) Then I can just put it in the vise when I need it, and set it aside when I don't need it on the bench. Plus, the vise will swivel side to side as well.

Sweet and simple. I will be making this. I’m tired of clamping my knives to my table although it has worked pretty well so far but I cannot rotate to vertical. I’ve had my welder for at least a year now and never unboxed. Time to get it out and what a perfect project to start with. Thanks

Entre ambos tornillos superiores, sería bueno colocar una lámina metálica que es la que haría contacto con los tornillos y debajo la madera para no dañarla.

@@RedBeardOps thanks for these awesome ideas, just wanted to know how much it was going to cost! I did find a 4”x4” x 12” fence post for $10! I was excited to get it, not exactly what you have but I think I can use your ideas and make this work! I found maple wood on a harbor freight wood dolly for $7.99! I got the wood and 4 2” casters for $8 bucks! I could not afford the tools I’ve seen! I’m having to make most of the knife making tools I have! Which I found out is not that uncommon! I’m almost done with 2@x72” belt grinder I made from a kindergarten table supports I got this for free! My grinder will have cost me about $125 including a 1 horse motor, I did by a motor mount so the belt could be tighten! It took me a year to figure out to turn it 90deg on a square mounting pattern to make that work! Should be done within the week! My 1”x30” belt sander has served me well but ready to move on to something better! Thanks for helping all us financially challenged! Craig

why you guys using a sqare tubes? insert one round pipe into another, and weld rods to the screws. one screw will fix the pipe, the second will fix the knife. everything is simple.
