i use an old windsurf board for yakking too. it is a lot slower than a sit in but I feel a lot happier out at sea. I haven't really modded mine but this gives real food for thought. thanks for posting!

Hi, I find a difference a speed only when I first move off, the board tends to want to turn but once I am on the move the fin at back works. I also find that sat in the well I have made, if I shift my weight on my botocks side to sode as I padle she tends to go better. there is definatly a knack to it. I did test her sat on her to find a good centre of gravity. I cut well a bit back to alow for my dogs to sit on but I should not as they are not on with me most of the time. Cheers, Pete
