You did a great job but I thought the large holes weaken the sling since you only have a sliver of leather on each side of the hole that could break with wear over time. But otherwise it looks great.

That’s a nice rifle, I like the sling too. I find I keep moving my favorite sling from gun to gun during hunting seasons. It goes on my elk gun in elk season, then moves to my deer gun in deer season, etc. it’s not my prettiest sling, but it seems to work best climbing up and down hills and fighting through the brush.

Oh wow....you really dressed up that rifle Kyle. Just beautiful. And hand made to boot !!! Great design for "winging" it too. I can see a bright future in your leather creations 👍👌 Well done Kyle, well done !!

I really like the sling overall. I have an old rotten one on the Rem 700 BDL .30-06 My dad gave me years ago which is why I am here watching this. The significant cracks in mine make me worry about yours on the pass through for you snap as a possible weak point years down the road.

Very nice sling! No clunky extras to get in the way! I might have used some gum trag on the edges and slicked them up a bit. It helps with the moisture absorption in foul weather. Over all though it's a damn nice sling! Good job!

Handy dandy sling! Impeccable handwork as you seem to always display. Hope you get over your cough soon..hopefully the Newfoundland germs don't hang on as long as our Maine ones have. Really enjoy your top-notch videos!

Gorgeous strap, not a bad .223 either. That's something that's been on my to do list for a couple of years but I never think on when I have a piece of hide big enough to make one. I've done a few belts, but never a sling. I like the simple stamp work as well, not over done. Good job bud, cheers till the next one.

Hello Kyle looks very good! A small tip, I edit the edges with Fibings Edge Enemal Black that gives the whole a clean finisch! It's a little more work but it's worth it and seals the edges. Greetings Tom!

Hello Kyle. If you have never owned a .223 before I think you made the right caliber choice. Sling looks great. Perfect colour choice I think. If I may give some advice with out offering you. Instead of using a snap try using one of the threaded two piece rivets. You can find them at Tandy. This way you never have to worry about the snap coming undone while on a quad or sled. On your next one you may also want to try making the sling a little wider at the point where it goes over your shoulder. Great video and a cool project. Enjoy the new toy. I’m sure it will give you lots of fun in the field.

Very nice, when you said about using a snap I thought what? Don't seem safe, but I should have realised that you was a step ahead by then. I just bought a air rifle, first time I've had a brand new one and I've been looking at leather slings for it, my son has a leather sling on his air rifle and it sets it off nicely.

Buddy that thing looks awesome. Ever plan on making other pieces of kit? As far as amount of guns go I have it paired down as far as my hunting guns go. I have my go to 22lr bolt, my 30-06 bolt (only gun I"ve killed coyotes with lol), my .257 Roberts (my "coyote gun", have killed 2 deer with it but no yotes) and a Browning BPS 12. That being said I have quite a few heirloom firearms that I could never part with despite them likely not being hunted with.

Should of made it two piece with a buckle and your adjustment is perfect and changeable more than two times and thickness of clothes won't make a difference. Plus you don't greatly weaken your sling by punching a way too big hole in the middle of your strap.

@@kyle_noseworthy I won't call myself a leather expert, but I'm highly experienced at it especially guitar straps. I am also highly experienced as a heat treater to having been appointed heat treater for a machine shop when they found out l made knives, in a forge and not an oven. l thank the guys at Hinderliter Heat Treat for their immense amount of help and knowledge that they passed along to me, but then again l did send them all our jobs that didn't fit into our 24" or 60 centimeter deep oven.
