I used to be a massive fan of Tokenole but I agree it is a total PITA to apply; I've started to favour Gum Trag because if you get in a mess applying it, it doesn't affect your leather finish when it's dried (and it's cheaper and more natural). Great pouch, loved to see you making another build video 💜

Thanks for sharing! More to come on my end, I've missed build videos.

@@DarkHorseWorkshop Your build videos started me on my leathercrafting journey. I like the streams but they start a bit too late for me, being in the UK. And I loved the Asgard stories 💜

Honestly the awful part is I was sent a few that I reviewed but never really dove in on fully in my production. When I finally did I was annoyed that I hadn't before.

@DarkHorseWorkshop my hands just can't take the tooling any more after 6 or 8 hours haha. When working 8-10 Oz leather or some of the stiffer kangaroo hides that catch my prongs I can feel it in my wrist for days! Think it's about time to add one of these to my shop when I can convince the Mrs. I'm sure if I tell her I can make her a bag faster than 4 days it'll help!

hey i was wondering, how would you tackle adding scalemail or chain mail to a leather armor? would you stitch the edge rings to the leather and have some leather overlap to hide the edges of the mail?
@DarkHorseWorkshop8 күн бұрын
I would probably stitch through a leather strip and then the rings strategically.

I just received my falcon2 40w, and I want to learn how to engrave on leather with the adhesive aluminum foil. Is there any tutorial video for that? Or, can you please make a video on it?
@DarkHorseWorkshop4 ай бұрын
Haven't heard of that I'll have to look into it.

@aldebaran777 If I had to guess, I'd say that you're referring to hot foil stamping for leather. I've not seen anyone successfully manage this with a laser yet. One of the key problems is surface contact between the foil and the leather. With a heated platen, the pressure of the press combined with the heat of the die transfer the desired image/text/whatever. But with the laser method, there doesn't seem to be a way to apply a completely flat contact face between the foil and the material.

You are using light burn use the library portion rather than a spreadsheet

You know while I was filming this I thought to myself... how does the WeCreat and X-Tool software have a library thing and Lightburn doesn't. That's without me even looking for one. Thanks for the great info! :)
