Turned out beautifully. Another great video Tandy. And you, girl, are quite talented! Smart thinking on the hair clippers. I especially like the use of the Craft-aide but adding to it - makes it uniquely yours.

"I just want to watch the world burn... So I don't do that, but that's definitely a pro tip that you should follow as should I." Good lord I don't have THAT much leather laying around to think that way lol.

“I just like to watch the world burn, so I don’t do that!” 🤣 I’m dead! Hahahaha never laughed so hard! Please keep this woman and have her do more videos! She was f****** awesome! I love her energy. She makes me excited to do leather work! And at the “what do you call this?” 🤣 I’m dead! Dead from laughter! Hahaha

Got to love a pretty lady leathercrafter with a southern accent. You probably found that you dulled your clippers shearing the lining. But they can be easily resharpened with a whet stone.

If shaving it down wasn't a thing, it is now. Also, at the start, it looked like you used a bone creaser before you did any cutting or tooling. What did you do with it?
@TandyLeatherCo6 жыл бұрын
Used the Deer Craftaid - bit.ly/2nxCwnY to make the impression on the leather by pressing on the back with the bone creaser.
@Cobra-ky9bt6 жыл бұрын
Tandy Leather Ah, ok. I've only ever use a modeling spoon, but for large area faster, that makes sense.

How many square feet of leather and shearling are needed for this pattern? Will the finished case fit a rifle with a scope?

What was the weight of the leather that you used? I've got the same pattern just haven't gotten around to making it yet, but hopefully before Christmas.
@TandyLeatherCo6 жыл бұрын
Johnny Chandler I used a 7/8 oz the pattern calls for 9/10 oz. I didn’t feel that weight was necessary since I lined it with shearling.
@johnnychandler24886 жыл бұрын
I have the shearling also but I was thinking of using 4-6 ounce and the woodland pattern that comes with it.
@TandyLeatherCo6 жыл бұрын
I think that would be fine!

Tim Stevens The artist is a girl, presumably she is making the case for herself, sooooo? What’s the issue? Make yours with the deer as a zombie eating a squirrel’s brains, and about to be stepped on by a T-Rex that just jumped out of a monster truck while chugging a beer!

Honestly, why title it "Making a Leather Rifle Case w/ a Pattern Pack" when very little of the video covers making the case. I was genuinely wanting to see a video of the rifle case being made, not decorated.
