You do beautiful work. I can see how they trusted you and Corter Leather for the massive order. Perfectly done! CONGRATULATIONS!

I know this is an old video now, but thank you for the super close ups! I am picking up on techniques I didn't realize.. and also that I use far too little contact cement...

I am very enthusiastic about your leather work. Just watching your short films makes me happy and satisfied. Thank you very much for your didactic and methodological support. It has already helped me with a lot of leather work. I would also like to buy some tools from you, but the procedure of ordering to Germany is too complex and expensive. I wish you all the luck in the world and continued success with your business. Greetings from Germany. Your admirer!

Holy crap. When I saw the big order I assumed you would have dyes for the clicker press. Not that you would have to hand cut and sew EVERYTHING! 😮 Astonishing work!!!

all hand cut :) Haven't had a blister on my cutting hand in 12 years of full time leatherwork and this job gave me my first one!

What is the name of the set that holds letters and numbers together to imprint at 1 try? I live in Brazil so translation is more difficult. I would like to search online to find this. Can you help?

Can I ask why you left a space between two sets along the stitching line when you were punching the stitch holes at 5:50? Wouldn't that risk leaving an uneven spacing in the middle, or is it all so carefully measured that that's not a problem?
@Corter5 жыл бұрын
It's the opposite actually - the corner and edge stitching needs to land in a specific place, so I punch them first. once they're in we can fill in the middle which allows us to mess with spacing a tiny amount in a place where it's not as important to be super accurate. That way we can space things out or in a bit to get an even stitch line visually , because they rarely line up perfectly with the spacing of our different irons depending on the SPI we're using
@triggerhappysound5 жыл бұрын
@@Corter Ah, so there's a bit of wiggle room in the middle, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it!

Corter Leather can I ask why you choose not to use a stitch groove on your products. I’m always worried if I don’t, the stitches won’t be protected then they will get abrasions and break. Do you have any insight?

This is my biggest fear of leather crafting, the thought of Big orders and making everything one by one 😂 maybe its my melancholy, but it scares me thinking having to cut everything and do curves to then glue and stitch, then again im a novice so u mess up way more lol

You guys should charge extra for hand sewing or buy a sewing machine or buy a stitching horse, cause that's a lot of sewing. I'd be wearing some thin Mechanix gloves at least and take small breaks to avoid cramps.
@Corter5 жыл бұрын
We charge an appropriate amount for the labor involved - this was a two week stitching job to keep our hands in good shape :)
