@MacBookAir-cu4fb4 жыл бұрын
Go and do that! I did it myself and it’s a lot of fun! But don’t get too excited at first, you will have to learn working with leather! It’s not easy, but definitely doable, especially if you watched a lot of videos from corter!😉

Same here! I was looking up places that sells scrap leather. I also watched the video on using "non-leather work specific" tools, so Im really tempted to try it out!

I just bought your pattern because I really like the design. One thing though is unclear to me: usually the exterior shell has to be slightly larger/wider on a wallet, so that the interior doesn't wrinkle in the middle when the wallet is folded? Why is that not necessary here? Is it skived down in the middle? Thanks!

At 4:07 why did you not scuff and glue the pocket when you stitched it? just curious if there was a reason.

I bought the pdf pattern of this one and found the print accuracy test to be almost 1/8" too short. I tried both the "fit to page" and "actual size" printing options and neither made it better. Any suggestions? Should I just go with it?
@laurenp70813 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too, and I'm going with it as we speak. How did the wallet work out for you?
@AirSofter2413 жыл бұрын
@@laurenp7081 I just went with it and it worked out fine. Although, using the 5mm stitching chisels from weaver as he does, I had a hard time getting the spacing to work out nicely. I don’t know if that’s a result of the pattern or not but I’d probably recommend using a smaller stitching chisel anyway. Good luck ✌️

Its a little confusing on the weaver web site as the bridle is only available in 10-12 oz and they say you lined this wallet with split to 3 oz. But it all looks thinner than that. Could you please confirm what leather you use for the tan and the dark outer pieces and its weight please. I assume the one you made in the video is all bridle or is the bridle just the outer darker layer?
@Corter4 жыл бұрын
It's all 3oz, Weaver will split the 10-12oz hides down for you for a small fee :)

Are you thinning your barge cement or something? I use the exact same kind and it's a pain in the ass to work with cleanly.
@bigfontbrandon4 жыл бұрын
It looks like the consistency of the weldwood cement that you can pick up from home Depot or Walmart.
@TheLeathersmithShop4 жыл бұрын
Definitely using weldwood, I get it at walmart. You can get thinners for barge though if you need it. I found using a glue spreader (silicone spreader, small putty knife, popsicle stick, ect) is waaaaay easier to control. Those damn weldwood brushes pop off the lid too easy.
