I'm a big fan of your craftsmanship mr. Morrison. I do have a question tho: How durable are the glue and the stitching? Is it suppose to be a bag to last for 10+ years with regular use?
@MorrisonMade2 жыл бұрын
For the bag itself? Or the zipper? For the bag, I double stitch and triple stitch the seams and corners, respectively. It will last forever! The zipper itself bears no weight on it or any forces beyond zipping and unzipping the bag. It will last forever!

In high school I worked part time for a leathersmith. Your videos bring back a lot of that nostalgia, and I got really strong thumbs and wrists from scrubbing saddle soap into the leather. It seemed like cleaning/restoring saddles was his biggest business. Keep up the great work!

Hi 👋 love your videos! Slower great sound and easy to see and follow. I have a question 🙋♀️ The zipper on the top is not stitched all the way from end to end. It looks like maybe 1-2 inches off each end. Is there a reason you didn’t stitch it all the way across? Please and thank you for your advice 😊

No but I wish he saddle stitched it rather than sewing machine.. that’s how I prefer making. Not many do it tho! Anyone can sew stuff together.. saddle stitch is an art & crafted .
@tiogah2 ай бұрын
Saddle stitching is much more robust as well, and if a stitch pops, it won't unravel. Machine stitches will unravel if you pop one. But ultimately, what you use comes down to SPEED. Saddle stitching is easily 10 times slower than machine stitch. So it all comes down to your needs and the client's desire and/or willingness to pay for saddle stitching.

@@MorrisonMade thank you for your input and thank you for your videos, one more question if you will, where did you have your dye/die? made for your stamp? Getting corners together can be made so much easier by simply(and carefully so it doesn't show on finished product) using double sided adhesive tape or contact cement instead or screwing around with clips on slippery leather. Seems like a pain in the rear to use clips
