Making a MCM Style Desk Lamp // Mid Century Modern Home Décor

I picked up a light kit and a unique bulb from IKEA and decided to make a lamp that has a bit of a mid century modern vibe. This desk lamp was a lot of fun to make; I just kind of played it by ear based on a photo I had seen online. The cool part about this desk lamp is that the general build idea is re-sizable so you could use the same technique and make the lamp any size you want. My wife and I love Mid Century, but that design is optional also. It's a really versatile lamp project. Hope you enjoy!!

So slats were made from old tongue and groove cedar boards that were around 3/8" thick. The slats are 12" long and 2" wide at the widest point which is 3.75" from one end of the slat. The end of each slat is about 1/2" wide. Hope this helps.
