*I put the black washers between the top two plates and it looks much better. Didnt see anything on the site mention the washers being put there but it makes it so there is no weird look to the pieces touching at all. Very clean looking kit, and the etching is a nice touch. Just make sure it's not cleaned with anything alcohol based.
@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
I actually meant to mention that as you will crack it, but completely forgot to bring it up. I only use a plastic cleaner meant for acrylic and other plastics on these types of things. I have many custom arcade panels, sticks etc with acrylic covers so learned to not clean with alcohol long ago lol.

One note about wrapping arcade p.c.b's in acrylic.. Static. As a board restorer it's always raised an eyebrow when people sandwich their boards in two layers of acrylic. Everytime you dust the thing it becomes a giant static charged capacitor, with your precious game as the dielectric. :/

Looking forward to seeing what you are going to pair to this, especially for video output - would love to find a good, reliable solution for Component output to my Sony WEGA TV. The really good Supergun alternatives are always difficult to get a hold of due to tiny pre-order windows that fill up quickly. :(

I didn't know there was a Neo Geo that tiny other than the pocket.
@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
yeah lol, if you remember the Neo Geo arcade machines some would have multiple games you could select. So there were boards that took more than 1 cartridge. This board was used for just one cartridge and was fairly small compared to the other MVS boards and even small compared to the Neo Geo AES home console.
@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
@ammonitida Dont be that guy. Its about options, your option isn't for everyone, just like others options are not for you. If people wanna emulate go for it, if they wanna play on original hardware go for it. There are different reasons people wish to play whatever way they want.

Had a CMVS sold that for the Neo Geo CD, boy I regret it but in saying that the Neo Geo CD just keeps going up in price, cheaper to mvs carts then aes carta
@HadoukenX3 жыл бұрын
As someone who has never owned a Neo Geo system, which would you say is a better direction to go in...consolized mvs like what you're showcasing or a "enhanced" arcade stick pro?
@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
Arcade stick pro if you don't wanna get into spending a lot of money on carts. MVS games are cheaper than AES, but still pricey. The Neo Geo library is about 150 games and emulate extremely well on various devices. Original hardware options are cool, but not for everyone especially considering cost and library of games for the system. No wrong choices, but gotta keep it real~

I’d remove that battery, those are pcb killers! Nice case though
@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
How is the battery a pcb killer? It's a new battery that people have been using to replace the old battery on the MV1C board. I'm not arguing your claim, just curious why?

@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
This channel is for options is the way I look at it. If you wanna keep it cheap and everything in the middle to expensive, I cover everything I can. I have plenty of other videos on cheaper Neo Geo options and videos coming up that are similar, lower prices retro options.

@@Madlittlepixel agreed. A big negative to what that dude said. I've got to MVH mobos that came out of games and I bought the acrylic cases a month ago. They are way cool. I'm excited to see the rest of this series. Thanks MLP.

So is this an old PCB or a FPGA clone of the Neo Geo?
@DarDarBinks19863 жыл бұрын
@@NB-1 I never had a Neo Geo as a kid and don't know anybody who did. My only experience with SNK games was through ports (i.e., Art of Fighting on Genesis) and arcade cabinets. If someone would make a FPGA of the Neo Geo and sell it for less than the original hardware, more people could play these games. Pop an EverDrive in the cartridge slot and you're good.

No excuses... everyone that ever wanted a Neo Geo can buy a cheap board, cheap case and put it together.
@Madlittlepixel3 жыл бұрын
Lol that's the problem. But there are plenty of MVS carts that are cheap, but It can be an expensive endeavour in the long run. But the point really is you can buy a board for $50ish and consolize it fairly cheap. Don't even need to get an acrylic case, could design your own or go the woodworking route or just leave it bare... Tons of options. To get access to a decent number of Neo Geo games on original hardware could always buy the 161 in 1 multi care for like $60, only really has 90ish games on it though. But for someone wanting to have original hardware and actually be able to play it you could spend a little or a lot. Or can play Neo Geo on MiSTer or Retropie, or via downloads on consoles. So many options to choose from and none of them are the wrong choice in my opinion.

@@Madlittlepixel This... SmokeMonster did a video where he consolized an MVS for like $50.
