Dude, enjoyed watching every minute of this. What a great video. Also, making mistakes is part of the process. The only way how we can learn. I love the sissy bar - very unique, and the new bender 😍

Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it! ✌️ It's easy to forget that you actually have to make mistakes every now and then to be able to progress.

@@HeavyMetalParkingSpot “Evolution forged the entirety of sentient life on this planet using only one tool, the mistake.” My favourite quote from the show Westworld. Have you watched it? Makes accepting mistakes a little easier for me when I think of that. And I mean your solution is the best example. It shows how a mistake can become a nice feature and a reminder of the process at the same time.

@@MotoWrenchers That's a great quote! Will try to remember that for my next misstake. I watched the first season of Westworld, but then never picked it up again, not sure why. Is it worth sitting all the way through? Yeah, it ended up being something special instead!

I can’t remember if I watched the second one. The first was the best in my opinion.

Hey Brother great to see a vid from ya good to have ya back . New bar looks great brilliant idea with the rivnuts however watch the tooling some makes are easier to break than others it's worth wasting a few to get the correct set up and tension for the thickness of the fixing metal . Easy to crush too much and rip out something . Great addition for tooling would be an air powered belt sander I've got the 20mm wide for getting in to tight spots . Also your band saw can it be used upright

Thanks and great to have you back as well! I didn't show it in the video, but on the first test rivet I did (in a piece of scrap), I managed to rip the whole thread out. 😅 I took it a bit more easy after that, haha. During the whole sanding process I was thinking about what tools would make the job easier. And a small belt sander might just be it! Thanks for the advice, will check it out! You know what? I actually modified my band saw so that I could use it upright, but I totally fortgot about it. Thanks for the reminder and for making me feel a bit stupid, haha. Will have to start using it in the upright position!

@@HeavyMetalParkingSpot dont feel silly ..i have a bigger version and sometimes it just too much bother to swap out and put the table on just for 1 cut .. Also you're getting better with the welding a lot better than when first started using it

@@garyyorke1080 You're right. Laziness can sometimes force you to not pick the optimal tool for the job. Thanks for saying that! I feel that I still have a long way to go, but I'm starting to get a hang of it I think.

@@HeavyMetalParkingSpot best advice I will give is if you have the time to think about something on how you are going to do it . Don't make the mistake and over think it if unsure step away for a cuppa or a tin of your favourite tipple and then look for a simpler way and don't rush into making it you way very well decide to change it , just like the twists you had in the bottom fixings .

Nicely done, it came out a charm. Tip for using the riv-nut tool: set up the riv-nut so the handle are only half spread, as it is easier to put the riv-nut up at half spread than it is from full spread... better leverage.
