This handle was used by my grandfather to make the Hero's Screwdriver! Legends tell of a screwdriver that could turn out any screw, no matter how rusted out tight. It never slipped or ruined the screw! I'm sure it was a thing of beauty. Restore this handle our make a new one, and I'll have my last step towards making the next Hero's Hand Tool.

I'm curious if you recover or recycle the brass, steel, and other metal shavings; and if so, how? Along the same lines, I also wonder how you clean up all of the shavings and dust. Your shop is always remarkably clean. Do you use a collection system? I suspect that I'm not the only one who is interested in these topics. They'd make a great video. Thanks for your work. It's fun to watch, educational, and inspiring.

Separating and saving the swarf is not worth the effort. Not even professionals do it. Big companies gather it in 1 container and it is sold as mixed metal.
@mymechanicsinsights4 жыл бұрын
I recycle it
@mymechanicsinsights4 жыл бұрын
@@Stefan_Van_pellicom I can't confirm that at all. All companies in switzerland recycle their metal shavings and they separate them by material. If you made aluminium on a machine and you make brass next, then you're going to clean the whole machine that the chips don't mix.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm glad that you recycle.
