Fred, the owl, is still hanging around and supervising Peter as he builds the gate for his fortified homestead. Peter also takes down the Union Jack and raises The King's Colours, to be consistent with the time period he is portraying.
Peter's son, Shane, and Shane's friends, Karl and Gord, although not seen in this episode, provided invaluable assisstance in building and mounting the gate and also in cleaning up and burning mountains of brush - a huge shout out and thank you to them!!

I 'know' the 'fighting Irish' well...married one you see! LOL! Seems ol' Fred keeps observing your ways Emperor Peter...but doesn't give a 'hoot' as it cannot keep him from 'his' pond. If anything you might hear him chuckle, as allllll your hard labors make the gate an' fence only a perch for viewing. Interesting thing to ponder that! Man is soOOOoo limited by his 'own' devices and nature...is 'free'. I thank U 4 sharing all your hard labors and 'wee-bits' with us Peter, and Empress Catherine's fine filming! "For what avail the plough(plow) or sail, or land or life, if freedom fail?" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). Health and blessings dear ones! :)

Goes way beyond limited to what I would term as encumbered when one looks at all the trappings of our modern world. As to the quote, so very true but, we also seem to be losing that there freedom thing a wee bit at a time. If not lose we certainly are regulated way beyond what is reasonable. Thanks as always, Marie , for your continued interest.
