Excellent! I'm glad to see Kelly Station is coming along nicely! I'm really looking forward to seeing it come together. As for the explosion of the Grand Magazine at Fort York, there are journal entries that the explosion was felt at Fort George and Fort Niagara. I've also had the chance to visit Gen. Pike's grave at Sackets Harbor.

Hey Peter! Kelly's Station is making quit a bit of progress! Given your location... I forgive the Flag. (Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!)) I always thought that Betty Zane's heroics deserved wider recognition. General Pike's fate still serves as a cautionary tale about Senior Officers commanding too near the front! (See Gen. John Sedgewick) That was some beautiful music!

There is something about having your own place that simply requires a flag. After the house here was finished the flagpole was one of the first things that went up. I used a white cedar that I found lying down after the land was cleared. It must have been 25-30 feet tall and was about 10 inches around. I dug a hole 5 feet deep and poured in two bags of dry cement. That little 3x5 flag looked so SAD up there. I didn't trim the limbs as close as I should have, and the flag had a problem with wrapping around the pole but darn it, I had up a flag. 20 years later and that flagpole is still there. It has a bluebird house and a bat box on it. The "real" flagpole is in the front yard with a 20ft aluminum pole and a light that shines down. A 3x5 flag looks MUCH better on that pole!

You are spot on Trevor. I do have one on order and when it arrives will fly the proper one for our time period. You’re the first to notice.

This is actually the wrong Flag for the period, since the Saint Patricks saltire was only added in 1801.

@@TheWoodlandEscape - That's nice. I hope you're not getting arrested for flying that flag afterwards, you know, somebody could be "offended" by it in this brave New and for "victimhood" crazy world.
