Very interesting Harry. You continue to amaze and inform us. I don’t think I have the skill set required for sailing ships, but I like to watch you work on them. The finished results are amazing.

great stuff Harry. Ive allways loved watching your builds. I built the HMS Victory (Airfix) ages ago purely to do the rigging. But i lost the Rigging templates and never did them. I think and hope your work here will assist me in making my own Templates. thanks for the terrific work you do

Thanks for sharing. What kind of thread (cordage) do you use for the shrouds and rat lines. Can you show a close up of the superglue joints. I hadn’t considered this and I am curious as to what it looks like. Thanks and see you next time.
@HarryHoudiniModels2 жыл бұрын
I use PVA white wood glue, it leaves a tiny clear dab at the cross over which almost looks like a knot join. The cordage can just be any cotton thread, if you wax it to remove the furry threads. However I use mainly rigging cordage from a hobby shop. Imai make some of the best, with hardly any furry loose threads. If you watch Part 8 of my Revell Bounty series you will see how its done and how the joins look when the glue dries, kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5mToGqXa816i7s

Wish I had seen this video last year before buying the Model Expo ver$ion.

You can still easily make one of these from stiff cardboard for any of your sailing ships.. then sell your Model Expo one and pocket the dollars

What is the material of your tool?
@HarryHoudiniModels Жыл бұрын
I just used an Everygreen stock sheet of 2mm thick styrene.

I ordered yesterday 3 mm styrene. I have been having a hard time ..or lost interest after making allmost two ratlines to the front mast of my Hellers Victory 1/100 scale. Im going to try with your tool find a way to complete the ratlines. Thanks for your video, it will be a great help to look it again before making the tool.@@HarryHoudiniModels
