Making a raw denim apron

Have you ever wanted to protect your denim from kitchen disasters with more denim? No? Well here you go anyways.
An apron made from raw, non-selvedge denim, using a chainstitch and vegetable tanned leather neckband.

What raw denim would it be best to get if I want that eventual wear and personal look and creases? Where would I be able to buy it?

Any denim will work for raw denim as long as it's dyed with indigo dye (artificial indigo dye is fine too). You can buy fabric from a bunch of places, check out some local shops if that's an option, I got the one in the video from Blackbird Fabrics in Vancouver.

@@saidsharif5212 it's less about getting any specific denim and more what you do with it. Whether it's aprons, pants, or jackets, the most personalized fades come from just wearing it all the time and washing it infrequently. You'll get much better fades by wearing a pair of jeans 5 times a week than once a week. And you want to wash it less often (maybe once every 2 months or as needed) so that it develops hard creases, but they'll also never fade if you don't wash them. I really hope it doesn't seem like I'm avoiding the question, because people online will try and tell you that you need to buy a specific type of material or type of denim to get the best fades, but the best fades will always be on the items you wear and love the most. But also heavier weight denim and starching when it gets soft will help too.

@@distressedtailor no I totally understand. It’s all the way you wear it and how often. And washing it minimally. I’ve even heard never washing it which is bias and maybe not sanitary but works. So I want to look for a non washed denim sheet.
