I have too many thoughts on this video for a simple "awesome video!" Comment, so I will write in bulleted format: - Leveling the router jig with screw heads: genius! - really liked how you glued the dowel jig to the mating leg, fast a simple! - are those photos or paintings on the wall? - for some reason, I never thought to clamp my router between two saw horses. It seems so obvious I'm embarrassed to even write it down! 😂 Great work!

And that, my friend, is how you get your comment pinned! LOL! Thank you, Jake, for the kind words! I really appreciate it! I've got your email so I'll send you some pics of the artwork in our entry way. I know they are not legit paintings on canvas but they might be a repro. It could just be a soft focus photo too. I'm really not sure. 🤔 You like my router table? 😂 Yeah I don't use it much and I don't have a lot of shop space so having a dedicated router table just isn't an option. Thanks again!

@@MakerBeach haha! YES! PINNED! So, i have a similar (although, much rougher....) router "table" but instead of setting it on saw horses put the router off center so that it could be clamped to my work bench. This works ok, but has a TON of vibration depending on the bit, material, etc. Saw horses would be much more betterer.

@@MakewithJake Love it. Work smarterer, not harderer. 😂 Izzy Swan has some good videos on makeshift router tables too.

Great reclaimed beams and great tip to wax the pull saw when binding. Beautiful build!

Thanks! Yeah that wax made a huge difference. 👊

You made a very hard project look simple, But even better you explained it so well that it made it repeatable. Thank You. It is a striking piece for an entryway.

We have a few pieces of old wooden beams and this a great way to use them.

Would like to echo "Make with Jake" some very clever solutions to the problems you faced with this build. It is a beautiful bench and fits perfectly in the space you have it. I live in Lutz and have shopped at Architectural Salvage a time or two self. Haven't been over there in a while, but will plan a trip soon.

That's awesome you are in Lutz! I'm right down the street in Odessa. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!

we both love the look of the bench and we thoroughly enjoyed the video itself. i admit i was concerned about the bench tipping over , but you already had a solution for that!!

Wow this is amazing! Love this! I am looking into doing something similar to this piece. Would you have the dimensions on your piece? Looks like it’s the perfect height and width from the wall so that it would be perfect and not take up to much room but yet still useable!
@MakerBeach Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes it's just wide enough to be decorative and not take too much space. It's about 10 inches wide, 24 tall and 7 feet long. We wanted it to be too tall for a bench and too low for a table and 24 inches was perfect.

I am thinking you could use this method to easily make a console or even dining table, although dining table would be best with 4" top. My husband will be watching this video over and over in the coming weeks as we plan. Thanks
