⚠️ God has said in the Quran: 🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) 🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 ) 🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 ) 🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 ) 🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 ) ⚠️ Quran

How well does the friction wheel hold the platform when it is not spinning? I'm trying to build one for a production but it would be integrated with the rest of the set. So there would be a lot of action happening on it, when it is not spinning.
@kropjesla01 Жыл бұрын
I've had no issues of the platform spinning on its own. The weight of the platform plays a big role in it. you might get it to move by hand, but if that is really a big issue you can always try to add a break or a motion feedback system where you let the motor break the disk. as the frictionwheel is strong enough to spin it up it is also strong enough to break it.
@kropjesla01 Жыл бұрын
hardest thing though is getting the disk flat enough so it keeps contact all the time...

Thank you. That's good to know. I plan on using a bigger scooter wheel ( I have 10 inches of clearance in my design) that should have a better grip. I'm working with a limited budget and time so I've selected parts that I can just buy and hopefully avoid making custom parts. My biggest concern was the platform potentially spinning from people just walking on it but now I feel confident to go from a theoretical idea to building and testing it. @@kropjesla01

Hello this is a stunning and ingenious revolving stage masterpiece 😊 I need to make one but I don’t have much time… quick question if I may.. have you layered two play one on top of each other for the top or just sandwiched the two with the tongue and groove system? I would like to replicate your idea for the dismantling as I would like to reuse it , but can’t quite understand the wood works …have you got any drawings.. ? It would help understand the cutting angles as mine need to be 4mt diameter too. Your carpenter worked magic. Great stuff. Thanks
@kropjesla01 Жыл бұрын
if you look closely you can see the boards laying out on the floor. It is only one layer of multiplex. (plywood) and two layers of wooden frame. we used two layers of wood so the bends on the wood could be the oposite of each other to avoid bending in the structure if that makes sense... the tonge and groove are in the middle layer of wood (so the first of the extra layers under the plywood.

This is absolutely fantastic! I am in the process of building something similar for my son's production of The Music Man at his senior year in high school. I have a few questions, I hope you can help. I see it is a 800 w motor, and I see the power supply is 24 V DC. What may I ask is the RPM of the motor? Can you provide the dimensions of the Draw Bolt Catches? The shop plans provided in comments below show a layer of plywood decking (top layer, layer 1), 2 layers of wood for the 'tongue and grove' interlocking underneath (layers 2 and 3, from the top), and another layer of plywood (layer 4). The images of the deck turned upside down at minute 1:00 appear to only have 3 layers. What layer number rides on the casters? I know it has been years since you built this, but thank you for your response :D
@osuchemengguy Жыл бұрын
Oh, of course I just thought of a couple more questions. What is the gear ratio in the gear box? As well as the diameter of the drive wheel? Thanks again!
@kropjesla01 Жыл бұрын
thank you for your reply, our revolving stage in fact does not have that many layers to it. We only use 1 layer of multiplex, but we reinforced it with wooden beams. the wooden beams are used to make tongue and grooves. it is this layer also that ride on the caster-wheels. it took some woodshaving to get it strait though. So I'm not sure that is the easiest aproach. it does make our stage very lightweight. the drawbolt catches are about 75 mm, but if I had to do it again, i would use bigger ones, because that would make them sturdier.
@kropjesla01 Жыл бұрын
the motor is in fact 900 watts, but under normal conditions it won't draw much current at all. it can use op to 1100 watts under full power. The RPM is 3000 but we have a reductor that brings it down. type is IEC-71B14A
@kropjesla01 Жыл бұрын
@@osuchemengguy the drive wheel is about the same size as the caster wheels, 8 cm I'm not sure what the ratio is of the gearbox, but it is aprox 3:1

@kropjesla014 жыл бұрын
Hi E Q, Because the turntable was made from 1 layer of plywood, reinforced with wooden beams it is quite lightweight. It is easy to build with two persons. if you add all components together it will be about 300kg (esimation) the cost for all the materials will be around € 2600,- but I was lucky to have some used plywood wich I got for free. It is the man-hours that would make it really expensive if you couldn't build it yourself. To place or remove it from the stage will take about 20 minutes.

The motor is a 900Watt DC Motor. RPM 1000, but this is brought down by a gearbox. This drives a 8cm frictionwheel on the bottom of the disk. How much you need depends on the weight of your revolving stage plus the load you like it to bear. Then you need to decide how fast it should accelerate or decellerate. I called a couple of manufacturers and asked them for their advise. most people were happy to help me with some good advice. Also some manufacturers have no stock, so it woult take up half a year for the motor to arive. keep that in mind and always call them up. Good luck and please let me know how your project is progressing!

I did not see this bearing, because someone made it for me, but the principle is simple: if you insert a conical shaft for either bottom or deck and place the bearing in a conical-bed for the other side, you're ready, but you could also use smaller bearings and put them in a circle. if you can get one, there are also special bearings for this type of application

That's all ? "Great" ? Come on. You could spend more than 1/2 second or 0.1 second with autocompletion, to thank this man for his awesome work.

I want to build a revolving platform for some drums
@kropjesla014 жыл бұрын
sounds awsome, but you'd have to use wireless miking, or sliding contacts.... unless you can use big beams for overhead miking of course...

Some steel tubing and steel sheet plates would do. Also what kind of motor would be best
@kropjesla014 жыл бұрын
@@phatjesus57 I find DC-motors are easiest to control. so if possible I would go with that. I have some specs in the description

I want to build that but 3x the size
@kropjesla012 жыл бұрын
wow, in that case it would be better to make a base out of aluminum. that will bend much less and will give much more stabillity for such a big size...also it will reduce the weight! keep me posted on your progress

Your imagination has not engaged to see what this can do. It’s an expensive & usually professional stage used by actors & dancers. It’s not a play toy.
@kropjesla012 жыл бұрын
I find it striking that you have come to this conclusion by just looking at this video. But you are right, it is expensive. sometimes you just have to reach a bit further to get creative. this stage was not build for one production though. we planned on using it more often. the stage is also available for others to hire for their productions. just maybe my imagination went a bit further that you expect
@frankgarofalo8432 жыл бұрын
But from the One Clip you show it it looks like a lot of wasted money just to have a bunch of kids running on a revolving stage.
