Recipe
12 oz shea butter melt and pour divided equally into two pitchers
1 teaspoon rose clay dispersed in 1 tablespoon isopropyl alcohol
1 teaspoon activated charcoal dispersed in 1 tablespoon isopropyl alcohol
.18oz Tea Tree essential oil
.06oz Lavender essential oil
Essential oil amounts are based on a 2% usage rate. If you are using a different combination of essential oils always be sure to check the usage rates for that particular essential oil. I like to use www.eocalc.com/ to find my usage rates.

can the powders be mixed with anything else more natural rather than rubbing alcohol... like distilled water??

@@uniFlor-ve9ht for melt & pour soap the rubbing alcohol works the best as it will evaporate out of the soap. You wouldn’t want to do water. You can mix the mica directly into the soap batter but it is more difficult to get it fully incorporated this way.

@@bellalunasoapery that makes sense. Can you explain what do you mean by difficult to incorporate in the soap? The mixing itself or how the soap will look after hardening? I just got my LLC and going to order the products this week so I'm completely new to soap making

@@uniFlor-ve9ht so if you put the mica directly into the soap without dispersing it in the rubbing alcohol it is harder to get the color completely combined with the soap and you may end up with splotchy coloring of your soap

Hi doesn't fragrance oil is better than essential oil while making melt and pour soap?

Either one will work. Sometimes the essential oil scent may not hold quite as long as a fragrance oil but I chose essential oil for this soap as it was aimed at being a facial bar and you wouldn’t get the skin benefits of the tea tree and the lavender with a fragrance oil. 💕

So since this wasn’t a soap I was layering and I was using melt and pour I didn’t track the temperature on it. If you are doing layers you would want to the soap to be 120 or under so as not to melt the previous layer.
