I also add salt for a more salt bar mechanics soap. Hardens them right up and they later awesomely.

I've made a sea salt and oatmeal bar for a friend with psoriasis, I find if I don't cut those bars right away, like A.S. A.P. , they're hard as brick(duh!😉🙃) and I CAN'T! I LITERALLY *have to* cut them as soon as they'll hold their shape! Then leave them on their backs(sides?) To dry, flipping every 12 or 24 hours as necessary. Until done. Sweeping up the salt as I go...right. pita. Which is why I make them as a custom batch, ONLY for her!

@@SoyandShea I went to amazon but they said it is unavailable and they don't know if they will be getting in any more so I ordered a set of cloud shaped molds. I think the grand kids will love that shape but I will check from time to time. I am thinking shampoo bars would be great in that shape. Thanks.

@icecreamladydriver1606 the cloud shaped one's sound great. If you google stone silicone mold, they'll come up

I have got plans to candles. There has been so many changes with wax over the years it's been hard to get one together. It all seems to be settling now though

I made a salt soap with coffee grounds and orange essential oil. It turned out great. It is supposed to be a gardener's soap. Im just kicking myself for using orange mica powder. Orange and brown dont exactly say Spring. Im going to do spearmint today and see how it goes. I love the molds you used and the design.

Hi, may I ask if buttermilk powder is the same as milk powder for coffee you buy in the supermarket? Thanks and I have the same molds! I am always looking forward to your videos!
@SoyandShea3 жыл бұрын
Although they are from cows milk, they are different. Buttermilk powder is fattier than milk powder. It is the milk that forms when making butter.
@galaxia47093 жыл бұрын
@@SoyandShea Thanks!
@galaxia47093 жыл бұрын
@@SoyandShea But wait, butter is made from stirring milk... I searched online and it says that buttermilk is milk with culture added. So now I know of which milk the powder is in my own language. (I didn't realize before that it only was a matter of translation.) It's a different kind of milk, fermented basically (not sure though if cultured always means the same as fermented).
@SoyandShea3 жыл бұрын
@@galaxia4709 it's part of a process that makes lots of different foods. You use milk to make cream. If you beat cream, it eventually turns into butter and the liquid that remains is called buttermilk. Even though it initially starts as milk, it is not the same as what put in coffee
@sjean21662 жыл бұрын
Real/original buttermilk is a byproduct of making butter. Current/commercial buttermilk is made by just culturing milk. They are usually able to be used interchangeably in cooking, but there really is a difference if you are used to one or the other.

I kept mine simple: " working man's soap" mild enough to keep most of his skin soft enough for the woman in his life to never complain.😉😎, bursting and scrubby enough TO CLEAN his hands from even he NASTIEST filth he'd Ever find! As a farmer/handyman, he often found way, WAY MORE than his own fair share!🙃🤪😳, usually because he was " helping" (doing)somebody else's work ..🙄🤪🙃...and ,of course, leaving his own to wait...🙃🤪🤨🤐🤫🤔🥵😲😳, No, that did NOT always go over well!😲😳🧐🥵

@@SoyandShea WAY TOO true! And turned out to be my best selling soap! Inadvertently. "I" wasn't selling it. "He" was! While I was getting treatments for cancer, I had to temporarily relocate to my daughter's home, nearer the cancer clinic; when he came to visit, he'd take back with him every scrap of soap I'd made up! Usually several *dozen bars*, some not quite ready for distribution. I later asked him HOW he was running through so much soap all of a sudden?! He said he'd been *SELLING IT!😶😬* to various people and had quite a business going, when he told me what he was selling it for*$$!*) And to whom(major cheapskates, *never happy* with anything!) I was extremely impressed with his salesmanship abilities. When he told me the prices he'd been gouging them for? I was even more glad *my daughter* had insisted on my getting some sort of insurance before even giving HIm, (who'd have let his parents use it) a bar-parents being notorious for hating my ever trying guts and just itching for a reason to do me in, in whatever way they could, thus a lawsuit actively *searching* to happen...😜🥵😉🙄. Then to find HE'D been selling it willy-nilly to anyone who'd wave the money at him? In *that* area of the county?! Yeah...I'm certain there'd be a lawsuit or three hatch out of midair given the right Inspiration! *$$* being MORE than enough, revenge being just the icing on the cake!(I'm a rather straight laced person who believes in doing things *properly,* especially when looking after animals.😉so seeing an animal in extreme distress moves me to doing things like ensuring it GETS food water, actual medical care...🙃😘😇😳. Which earned me a *few* (enemies?) *Less than bosom buddies!* Who'd have loved an opportunity to *"get their own back"* by starting *something*. Anything, didn't even have to benefit them, as long as it causes some kind of trouble for *me.*🙃 it wasn't, in *any way* a fancy bar, if anything, it was specifically *unfancy, overly primitive*, but hed seen a few soap making videos, followed their links back to their sites and loved the allure of those prices!🤪😳decided on the spot that he'd charge about that plus a bit, since these were *purpose made*.🙄😒🥴😳😲...you get the idea...🤪😳🙄🤐😵🤠🥺🤯🤡💟🕳💫💔 Real Peyton Place it was.😘😜
