Making a Selena doll

My first time trying a doll repaint/customization! I turned Lola from the "Latinistas" doll line into Selena Quintanilla-Pérez using paint, a little makeup, fabric, various items from the craft store, and some Barbie cowboy boots I bought on ebay (didn't think I had the skill to make shoes from scratch). This is the white outfit Selena wore on a few different occasions including the 1994 Houston Astrodome concert.

Hello Miss Tessa, this is very beautiful! I loved it so much on how you did a makeover on transforming an ordinary barbie doll to Selena! I love her! After seeing every detail on this process, I ended up transforming an original Ken doll into Bram. This took me 2 weeks to do, but it was worth the time. The makeup part was my favorite. Doll transformations to a favorite/specific character are my most favorite hobbies in the world! Here's how Bram was made(the best 14 days I had): I removed the ken's old blonde hair. then used both golden and dark brown hair to transplant. I rerooted the hair into layers(gold on top and brown below). Then I used some peach markers to add color to his face. I gave cut and style the hair. I added glue to the hair to shape and froze it overnight. Then when frozen, I steamed it. then blow dry. then I washed off the glue and blow dry. I did this at least 4 times to get a desired shape. Also I did trimmings for a special look. Lastly, I painted with glue & water to reshape & blow dry to form "dreadlocks." The hair styling process was continuous until I got the desired shape. After the hair makeover, I painted a beard(light brown) and his eyes bluish grey. Once done, I tranferred it to an old ken made to move doll. I also painted the skin and coat it with nail polish as well. It was repetetive until I got the consistency of the shade. Before touching up, I used a glue gun to secure the new hair and the connection for the head & neck. It was like a DIY "vacation" to me of how Bram came to my doll makeover story. I truly appreciated your time to share on this!
