Love it! Everything from the video editing, song choice, the build, the execution of it all and the different dimensions in height of the bricks. Really awesome decor at any age and can definitely be an heirloom as Legos NEVER gets old

Dude, that came out awesome! The thumbnail hinted at it, but I kept wondering how everything was going to be oriented when it was on a wall. Then it all just fit perfectly. Like it was custom made or something.

Lol thanks Shaun! I was going back and forth on what to do with the thumbnail. Glad it created a little suspense.

For this one I just used a few heavy duty D rings that screw into the back. A more elegant solution would be a recessed French cleat.

Dear John, Please tell me, you sell some of beautiful creations. Do you have a store or online store? I absolutely love that LEGO Shelf! The color of the different types of woods are stunning! I played with LEGOS with my Sons now, l play them with my Grandson. (Mostly with those DUPLO Train Sets) I’m a Pastry Chef for nearly 40 years now, I’m semi-retired mostly. Now, l have fun making homemade Marshmallows with my Grandkids or making LEGO cakes for them. Your woodworking skills are phenomenal and you’re extremely creative. I’m looking forward to see how you made the “Squiggle Bench” next.

@antoniolazzaro70526 жыл бұрын
Looks amazing!! I have to ask, what was the formula you used to convert the measures from a lego bock to build size? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I've been trying to figure this out.
@parillaworks6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Antonio! I did an 8x scale which gave me a single 1 x 1 plate being 2.5" x 2.5" x 1". A 1 x 1 brick would be the same, only 3" thick instead of 1". The studs are 1.5" in diameter and 0.5" tall. There are some charts out there that describe the proper proportions of Lego pieces. Surprisingly, they converted to inches nicely. I guess dividing all of those by 8 will give you the actual dimensions of a piece.

Amazing! I'm jealous, and now i want to make a whole wall like this, and i don't have much worth displaying, thanks for the idea! That is one tasty shelf Edit: I'm gonna make a lego coffee table with drawers, the drawers will have the buttons on them. I came back to see how you made them.. damn, a cnc. I'll be using my recently acquired bandsaw. It'll be good to get rid of the plastic drawers, they're ugly and and they don't open all that well. My niece will love it!

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a table top jointer, do they work good.
@parillaworks6 жыл бұрын
The little Grizzly I have works well. It has cast iron beds and fence which is a plus. Like all benchtop jointers, you are going to be limited in the size stock you can reliably joint. I can usually joint stock 4ft and under without issue.
@davidmontgomery10163 жыл бұрын
Very cool! But you have way too many mini figures (not really). I'm 61 and still play with Lego and I don't even have children. I tend to lean to the Technic series. I might need to do something like this for my collection.
@ichbinpete6 жыл бұрын
Do you have the dimensions you used for each piece?
@parillaworks6 жыл бұрын
A simple 1x1 brick is 2.5” x 2.5” x 3”. The height is 3” which means a single “plate” is 1”. This shelf has mostly full bricks (3” thick) and a few that are 2” thick which would be two stacked plates.
@wdbland08206 жыл бұрын
Are all the mini figs real Lego designed? If so where yo usually get them?
@parillaworks6 жыл бұрын
Yup, they're all real! Most of them are from the Collectible Minifigure line which are blind bags you can buy at the Lego Store, Target, Walmart, etc. Most aren't sold anymore but you can get them on sites like Bricklink, BrickOwl, and eBay.

To make things lighter why not use ur CNC to hollow out the back some? Either way nice idea (stealing it)
@parillaworks6 жыл бұрын
It’s something I considered. It would take a long time though. I think a mix of hogging out the waste with a forstner bit and some router template and jig to clean it up would work well.
