It's a great feeling playing with a cue you made yourself. I once spent 6 months making a snooker cue (clearly had no idea what I was doing as it took me so long). I messed up the last 5 minute step twice. The second time was unfixable. After another 6 months of being depressed wasting my time on that cue, I got motivated and made a new one in only a month this time. It was 10x better than the first one and now I use it every time I play. It's made me appreciate videos like this because I know how much work goes onto it. Good job. Looks amazing.

What brand carbon fiber shaft did you use and where did you get it? It has a cool pattern on it.
@thugstation5 жыл бұрын
It's the GO Customs Carbon Fiber shaft model 1. This model isn't made anymore. Google for GO Customs. The shaft is made by Goran Kobas from The Netherlands. The revisions of this shaft are even more awsome and don't have this pattern on it,
@YIRMASTER5 жыл бұрын
@@thugstation it is a cool pattern. How do you turn down the butt to match the shaft in diameter is there a standard template or measurements or trial and error until you get it right?

Hi, you got me on the idea to also start making cues. i made a pessure chamber from Stainless steel and made a master cue. from that i made a solikone mold. now i trun wooden raw pieces to the right size, make some grooves into them and put them into the mold. i need very little epoxy and have way less work after demolding. also i made a cuemill and it works great. the joints i make on my metal lathe. i trun the hole exactly to the joint pin and then lgue it in, form there i also, as you do, start milling and grinding. Also what i do is i make a 300mm deep M12 thread into the wooden core, for weight adjustment. works great. i guess i will have to make a video soon :-)

I like the looks of that CF shaft, i never seen one with squares like that, i love the squares, how does it deflection compared to revo and cuetec and jacoby black shafts?
@D3VAST8-2464 жыл бұрын
It is a Go-Custom First Gen shaft they have since moved to ones that look like the revo and actually have a better hit and not a tingy noise like the revo it is definitely on the lower side of deflection and it completely customizable from joint, weight, ferrule color and tip size....and it is slightly cheaper than the revo and it is a full pro taper like the cynergy...
@jpaynewoodworking75104 жыл бұрын
That was the Gen one go customs shaft they have stopped making them now as far as the deflection is Was likely cost to the same just a different look

What is the finish weight of a butt done in epoxy versus a traditional wood butt of the same physical dimensions? Many players, myself included, prefer 18 or 19 ounce cues so if your epoxy it too heavy, this would not be the way to go.
