You are welcome and that sounds nice. Tinning would work if its 400 degree solder. I find with the hard silver solder, you have to heat the piece alot more with tinning method, you have more clean up, and top cross tends to move around, leaving a possibility of not being centered when solder sets. 🎉

Would tinning solder on the back of the cross first be a way to do it as well? I love the dimension of the 2 together. My girlfriend would love a cross necklace. Plan to run the top cross through a rolling mill to add a feminine pattern prior to patina and leave the back cross polished. Thank you for this idea!❤

Yes, that works also
