@@colladayleather If you ever make a less expensive 'print' of that design just printed on a nylon strap, I'm there!

I subscribed because of this video! Just a hobbyist myself, but have some experience in both leatherwork, airbrushing and painting so I recognize your skill level. And the way you combine all this to make this highly detailed, depth convincing piece is impressive! You've got a fan today! 😊

Very inspiring 🙂 I draw a little bit Where would be a good place to start learning this style of leather work? I have 0 Idea
@colladayleather2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I trained under a saddle maker where I learned leather carving. There are quite a bit of instructional videos on KZbin, a good place to start would be purchasing a swivel knife and some scrap veg tan leather. Learning the basics of the swivel knife then graduating to tooling the lines with bevel and shader tools. Practice and experimenting with different techniques was how I progressed and having some drawing skills helps a ton. Best of luck! Perhaps I'll make instructional videos in the future. Cheers!

Can the art stand up to everyday day used on my belts
@colladayleather3 жыл бұрын
It really all depends on what someone does for a living. I've had customers only use their fine art belts for dress occasions and some who love the wear and patina it takes on with time. I use several coats of sealer to protect but its not guaranteed to look the exact same through years of use. I hope that answers your questions. Let me know if there's anything specific you're looking at getting. Thanks for the question!

Do you sell a pattern for this design strap.?
@colladayleather3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jim thanks for asking. Unfortunately I don’t at this time, I view my designs as my artwork and not as patterns. But this could change in the future. I hope you continue in the leather trade! Cheers!
