This is a great idea for a time out chair. Write the code so that as they sit the progress goes up. If they get up the progress quickly turns off one bar at a time.

This absolutely by an amazing idea as a kit. For people with ADHD, we struggle to continue with certain projects when no longer have the motivation for them. But at the same time we go crazy trying to explore new ideas and skills. I think this is the perfect solution to 1. Learn about building and coding and 2. Utilize what we just built to help us finish projects we left behind. I would LOVE to make this one day!

@@cmdraftbrn attach an accelerometer to a paintbrush. You could also use a video camera and run the feed through a machine learning algorithm to detect whether you’re painting. You could also attach a pressure sensor to the paint brush. There’s a lot of ways to implement this.

This is a brilliant project! It could honestly be a major help to many people with their day to day practice on things like Guitar or Piano, or maybe even something like learning a new language! If that can be done. I would love to see this project as a big thing, people all over using it to help with their activities and more. It's super cool, and would be a major help in the long run for a LOT of people.

This way you would be getting a direct signal from the instrument that would then be passed onto an amplifier. Keep up the amazing job. I absolutely love seeing what you come up with!

Liking the new video editing montage. I used to watch the king of random when grant was the host and your channel because I like to keep myself busy when I’m not at work. A little before Grant passed their channel was taking a different direction from diy projects and more towards experiments. Don't know why this video brought that idea back in my head - maybe you guys could do it :)

It would be interesting to use this either in a standing mat or still as a seat and have the guitar signal pass through versus using a microphone. Would be useful for if you're listening to a track or if someone comes in and wants to talk to you to ensure that it's only measuring the actual guitar play time versus generic noise.

I guess Kit's would be cool in a way - but to make it more customizable it would be cool aswell to be able to buy certain Kit's you only need. For Example I have a ton of those ESP's laying around I will only need the actual Progrssbar. So If you'd split this Kit's you'd probably sell more. Not splitting the whole project into each part - that is just to much work. But after a few tries, you will see what people need. The Electronics? The Design of those cool housings? You are doing a great work! Keep going on. Greets from Germany!

The one thing missing is a sensor that can judge the quality of what you are playing. I've been playing guitar for about 35 years and one that I do for enjoyment and stress relief is just doing improvised solos over music or backing tracks. I can easily do these solos for an hour or longer and while it's enjoyable it's not very useful progress. Sure, I do limber up my fingers and get to work on my improvisation and melody creation but that's only a small portion of what comes from this musical goofing off. In fact I usually refer to this as "Musical Masturbation" as it's fun and helps reduce stress but it's not very productive. LOL My time would be better spent going over classical or jazz study pieces, working on music theory or writing songs but I guess they don't yet have sensors and arduino code for everything yet. :D
