Making a Spinner Coin Ring From a Silver Dollar!

This ring came out really well with the center spinner. I used 1921 Morgan silver dollar along with the dont tread on me coin. What other spinners would be cool to make?

Ive went into the silver ring soldering realm but i still love to do coin rings. Ive got a bunch of morgans thatd id love to do someday, but theres a ton of equipment id have to buy. Either way, i still love watching coin ring videos.

Unfortunately stretching it causes the spinner to stop working. You can usually reduce a tiny bit but the spinner gets a bit loose.

I tried to make a silver dollar coin ring, it started okay but seemed to not want to fold after the 3 rd heating. The first one broke and this one is getting hard. If the silver dollar came from Temu will that make a difference. As I want to make a spinnner similar to the one you made. Thank you Ed

Temu is definitely your problem. They are fake and they means it’s cast. You can’t fold a cast coin. They have to be a real coin that has been extruded and struck to get the metal grain pattern that will allow it to fold.

For coin rings not made from using a silver or gold coin, can you Electroplate them and still see the detail, Its something i have been thinking about, it might be a way for people to wear the rings and not have their finger go green??. Have you Electroplated a ring before??.

You can definitely see details but it will still turn your finger green. If not right away pretty quickly.

Hi Skyler....loonng time admirer... I have been searching for copper coins (coin shops and on line) without any luck. What size comparison (to different coins we use in circulation) did/does the copper coin you used match? The only sizes available (that I can find) are in 1oz size. We thank you for your response. I just used my last one today so I can’t be exact now. But it’s pretty close to a half dollar. Also there was no design on the back. It was just smooth. It was the perfect size! The 1 oz ones are usually too large to work well unfortunately. I just hope whoever sent me those sees this video!

Nope they are all gone except the one I made for the video. I only had 3 coins and can’t find more :) So unless you are a size 11.25 they are all gone. They were a limited thing.
