No person starts out being the perfect Gardner , not every thing you plant survives well it sure didn’t for me ! Start with easy hardy plants 🪴 I did and the plants grew , wow I was impressed! Gardening is relaxing and therapeutic, my grandmother always had a garden and worked in it when she was in her 80’s she loved it ! Good for you ! Tomatoes 🍅 for me , I think maybe 4-5 actually grew the rest didn’t 😂. Maybe my gardening gig wasn’t growing tomatoes!

Hi, love the creative energy! I’m thinking you will want to put some type of drain pan under your plastic bin so that any excess water can evaporate? The water likely will drain out of the holes as muddy water. The muddy water will either stain the patio or run down off of your patio onto your neighbor’s patio. Or both.

Hi Erika, first, I'd be willing to place a small wager that before too long you will be able to look outside onto your property and actually see a vineyard, lol. Here's one observation you might appreciate. If you feel like you don't have time to do something then it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy and you very likely won't. This probably applies to everything. Here's an idea for your channel too. How about doing a before and after type of thing? For example, I'm pretty sure you could find a person who has a gardening channel, there might even be a subscriber on here who already does, and you can do a channel share. Next time around, they can have you on their channel and you can upgrade what you did the first time around for your patio garden. You will gain a ton of followers that way and they probably will also get more views and subscribers too. And you can do the same with other activities your interested in. Would be fun. You might feel like no one who has an established channel would want to do that but I'm 100% sure you would find some fun creators who would love to do it. Also, you probably feel unworthy, I don't know why, but that's pretty common. Most people actually feel the same way, but if you can get over that I'm sure you'll have your vineyard sooner than you could imagine. Best wishes!

Square foot gardening is a real thing. It’s possible to raise food plants in confined areas. Keep an eye on your plants. Some of the plants I have purchased at a certain store (not Harley Davidson) developed mold. Buy some garden fungicide spray from the same place you bought the plants. Gardening isn’t glamorous. It’s hard work. The melons are going to need room for the vines to run.

Great video and always the best way to learn is to do it. The only thing I would say is about the lid under the tote, I would turn it the other way up to it acts to catch any water , the water will come out brown and over a period of time may stain the concrete of the balcony. Have fun with everything you do
@moleculemagician86163 ай бұрын
It’s always nice to have some watermelons growing on the terrace. That way if a zombie apocalypse happens you can always fill the watermelons with high proof vodka, stick rags in the holes, and when the zombies approach you can light the rags on fire ( one at a time) and throw the improvised Molotov cocktails off the balcony to defend yourself. 😅. All jokes aside, I think you’d do just fine as a pioneer woman in a covered wagon.

That went well. Remember to keep them watered about maybe twice a week and they should grow well. Plants will usually limit themselves to the size of the container of their roots. If you would like another suggestion that would be a worthwhile skill to learn, get out your car's owners manual and read about how to change your tires. It's easier to learn now than with a flat tire on the side of the road at night and in the rain, and the BEST way to learn something is by experiencing doing it so take one off and put it back on. And I am a believer that every young person- regardless of gender- should know how to do at least the most basic maintenance work on their own car. Even IF you don't want to do it as a hobby, at least you will be able to do so without having to pay someone else to do it for you (or get ripped off by someone else doing so, because you will know what needs to be done). It's just a suggestion, but the theme of this channel seems to be leaning into personal growth, right? That being the case, I suggest you approach it like Robert Heinlein's famous quote- A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. -Robert A. Heinlein ETA: Oh, and the background music went well. Just remember that as this channel continues to grow, stick with music sources that do not have copyright issues (which I am presuming the selection you used does not).

Like some others have already commented...... Those scissors in hand pointed upward while lifting that bag of soil in a confined space...........scared me to death. LOL. Depending on sunlight levels, you'll probably just get watermelons and tomatoes. The watermelon plat will dominate everything except the tomatoes.....they'll get the tomatoes too if you let the watermelon plant vine up the tomato plants. As they grow, the tomato plants will need some kind of support or they will eventually break over from their own weight. Great presentation, though. Thanks for doing these!!!!!!!!!

Good luck with the garden! The only issue I know might come up is that the birdies love them some strawberries, when my parents grew them they had to put up netting to keep the birds off them. If you notice vanishing strawbs, that'll most likely be the cause. Potatoes are pretty good for growing on your terrace, you can grow them in buckets, but they have to be the larger style buckets. Might be a bit late in the season to start them, but if you did start them you'd probably at least get some baby potatoes.
