I though the same!! She looks beautiful!! The dress is astonishing!!!, I know they are not black and white stripes... but this dress could easily join the Karolina Zebroska strippychallenge...

I can see what she means, the Regency style looks good on many,,but only looks amazing on a few. Angela is a little too tall and a touch too wide for the "ideal fit" I.e. the women who were traditionally smaller and shorter during this era.

"and a hammer, which I got for Christmas one year" -- there's something so reassuring in knowing that I'm not the only one who got given a Christmas hammer when I was young? I loved this dress, your work with stripes is always so incredibly impressive, and I'm in awe every time I watch you work.

Stripes are difficult enough when they are straight, much less diagonal on the fabric! You're awesome! It's worth all the effort you put into the matching & cutting. Love the chevron it makes pointing up the sleeves.
@vickinoeske17115 жыл бұрын
The fabric is perfect for the dress. I love seeing the stripes line up exactly in different directions.

Love the look ! Also, with this fabric, the dress has a slight steampunk feel to it. Probably due to the pirate rebel feel as well. Lovely piece!

You have a perfect cutting technique, using weights instead of pins, heavy (and beautiful) fabric shears and long confident cuts. This technique is true to high fashion and couture dress making. It's so rare to find videos implementing this basic cutting process and thought you deserve credit for it.

Oh my God Angela, you are SO hard on yourself! What you're doing is not easy, and not just anyone can roll up to a sewing machine and create and execute what you have. No shame in taking credit for that. I always look forward to your posts because they are inspirational.

My winter sowing project is making myself a whole wardrobe in an 18th and 19th centuries inspired style. Keeping everything in 100%-60/40% cotton and cotton/poly blend fabrics, I want them to all be “layerable” so that they can be worn all year round. I do believe my dear you just inspired a Sunday dress for my new soon to be wardrobe. You are a true inspiration. I appreciate seeing someone like myself that doesn’t use patterns doing it successfully. Thank you! ❤️, A Sewing Dorothy In Kansas P.s Why does one sleeve seem to always go on easily and the other problematic? Lol I have the same issue myself.

I have seen prints from the Victorian magazines that look very similar i was just looking at today!!! You nailed it!!! The stripes line up VERY well and look amazing. I can see a very rich lady in Victorian times wearing this at the beach or for in the morning while getting hair done at home.
