Just to follow up; the lure ended up weighing right at 58g total with the hooks. I get a lot of questions about where I get materials, paints and accessories for these projects. I try to find the best deals on Amazon and I share them in my Amazon store. Follow this link to check it out: www.amazon.com/shop/engineeredanglerlures

As I have retired 5 years ago (I am almost 70) I have time to build lures. Following exactly your instructions I have build my first crankbaits (with and without lip) that work absolutely perfect. Next I want to try is building your eel-lure. What I am not familiar with is air brushing also as i have not the equipment. That will come, believe me ! So: stay healthy and creative, and many thanks for your videos !!!!!!!

Great job. I was up at 5 this morning and very pleased to see the video posted. Snowing and 30 degrees here in Southern Maine, might as well add another lure idea for striper fishing. I can see that lure being slammed by one no problem. Keep em coming.

Nice job Franko, turned out great. That action is really cool, nice fish too! Random idea for you, have you seen those gurgle pots or bird sound ones? I have a question unrelated to this video. Can u tell me why my suspending Jerkbaits float in the winter?
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
Well, This is why I never really think it's worthwhile to get a perfectly suspending lure. Even if you can actually get a buoyant equilibrium , It actually is an unstable equilibrium. So the slightest thing can throw it off. Small bubbles caught in the hooks and hardware or on the surface of the lure will make the lure float. If the lure gets cold enough it can shrink slightly and have less volume that would make it sink. A change in the Density of the water could either make the lure float or sink. But in your case I believe that it's a water density issue. Water is a funny thing it will become more and more dense with colder temperatures until it begins to form ice then it expands and becomes less dense and the ice will float. I suspect that your lures were probably very slightly buoyant to begin with, And the slight increase in density of the colder water will make it float. I prefer to make my suspending baits slightly negative so they sink just very slowly. This way I can count them down and fish them at the depth that I want. Thanks for watching and thanks for the question.

Franco I have a question when you use the mesh fabric for your scale pattern is it possible to use paint brushes if you don't have a airbrush system
@EngineeredAngler

Hi ! I use the same resin and i like it but to cure it i use 2 405nm uv spots and it does work but it is prety long, like 2 or 3 hours, and at the end it is not tacky but a little bit soft... Do you think i need a different wave lenght? Also the smell is prety bad.
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
Yes...365 to 395nm is best but you also need as high a wattage as possible.
