Making a Tanto Part 2: The Habaki.

The next step in the process is to get to work on the copper bits and pieces. The first of these is the Habaki: the piece that fits over the blade's ricasso in order to hold the blade firmly in the scabbard.

Although copper is soft and easy to work with, shaping a 3mm thick, short and relatively narrow plate needs time, effort and patience! So the only I can say is, Bravo my friend! Looking forward for the next video. Take care Dimitris

This habaki does not fit the blade at the edge. Nor particularly well at the spine. But it does sort of look like a habaki. We salute you.
