Making a Tanto Part 1

For a long time I have wanted to make a traditional-ish Japanese Tanto. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and make all the bits and pieces including Tsuba etc. So far it has taken me months of work and starting processes several times over. I hope you find it interesting.

From the little I know, making a Tanto needs a lot of work, patience and devotion; now, I know that you have patience as well you are very persistent, so I'm sure that the finished Tanto will be amazing! I can't wait for part two. Your friend Dimitris

Oh how much can I relate to this. I made over a 100 knives in my life so far. Late summer I started a Tanto too. Most complex knife I ever started.
