You went more elaborate than I would have! I'd have 'invested' in big sheets of thick cardboard and a couple of rolls of duct tape for "hinges/joints/seams". When you first mentioned your issue I expected you were going to build a simple wall to turn your printer corner of the garage into a "closet" that's braced against the wall (floor anchors optional). If you're goal is to stabilize the temps, then your frames are big enough to make a 'cabinet' to get you through (and maybe even save some $$ on keeping your garage so warm in the winter). Good luck with it, and thanks for sharing your fun.

“Sometimes you gotta make it wrong before you can make it right” That’s always stuck with me in 3d printing. I no longer nit pick before the first print May wanna consider taking your top two products, and do 30sec videos on them, advertise those videos on fb, TikTok and Google, direct the traffic right to the Etsy listing. I know it sucks to do, and pay for - but you are obviously good at making videos and I believe any product worth its weight, will need launched and advertised to properly execute its idea. It’s all about more eyes seeing it Killing it with the giga, that last print turned out amazing for large format. Great to see! Btw, Thanks for the shout out brother!

for the "door" you can just use magnets around it and it will hold it in place

Riv-nuts. Then put holes in and you can bolt it on, and take it off, the sides will have permanent screw holes. What I plan for mine, but with 3D printed side panels that will hold the plexi.

Cold? C'mon up here in Maine 😁 kudos on the enclosure, it makes a huge difference on my printers, being able to control the printing environment.

Pull up Dave Gatton here on the tubes. He does a Wednesday night live on CNC stuff. Anyways his enclosure is what I want you to look at. He uses lift off panels with 3d printed holds for the sides. I think the first show like 2 months ago he shows it in more detail.

You could use a couple of those 1" magnets to hold the top/edges of the plexiglass to the frame - to separate the magnets just slide the plexiglass sideway an inch

maybe velcro the corners of the front for ease of access... just a thought

Makrolon is polycarbonate, PC, same stuff as riot shields, plexiglass is acrylic, more scratchy resistance lot less shatter resistance

So I can use the giga as a safe room?
@adamaglionby743827 күн бұрын
@TechnicalsTinkers Should be safe if the giga starts a riot😉

Earlier you were worried about the spool falling - maybe use some left over plexiglass as a shield?

Bro, you should get the Osmo pocket 3 from DJI! it’s a camera that follows you around. I’m really thinking about pulling the trigger on one. I saw Sam from Sam craft got one and a couple other people! If you’re thinking about it, let me know. I’ll send you over my link ;) lol Also, this is Corey from Williams workshop by the way.

You really should screw that glass into the frame. It will stiffen the printer like nuts. This should seriously improve your prints, at the upper half of the volume.
