In most cases, more hardener component makes it HARDER when cured, not cure faster,except for stuff like PE auto bondo. More hardener, smaller chains, harder...less hardener, longer chains (molecules), more flexible/softer.
@thedarkpower3 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to bondo? I'm not sure if that's true of the particular brand I've been using.
@LaserGadgets3 жыл бұрын
@@thedarkpower PE = polyesther...matter of polymer, not brand. The more hardener you got in your system, the more reactions start allover the place. So the polymer chains end up being shorter...means you get a harder finish.

Mech Idea...a 12 legged mech like a millipede/spider with a turret near the back housing a massive gun...something like the Schwerer Gustav railway gun for the lolz...Imagine the crazed fear of the enemy seeing the turret slowly turn in their direction in preparation to fire.

Really loved it! I do think the bigger feet would haved looked better... and... missed some "footprints" on that base! I get that the build might be your favourite part, and that time was an issue... but damn, that paintjob can benefit so much from another pass! Epic build, bit of a rushed paint, in short ... just needs a part three for a 10 out of 10, imo ...
@thedarkpower5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's a good shout actually, adding some footprints. I'll have to do that for the next one! Not sure what else I would have done on the paint job though - it wasn't rushed at all, I simply meant I didn't want to delay building the base as I was waiting for some silver paint.
@Virakotxa5 жыл бұрын
@@thedarkpower Ok, bare with me... Ideas for extra color that I had while watching... Piston grease on those pneumatics, mud splatters for the feet and legs, heat stress on the cannons, a touch of wash and highlights on the filigrain metallic parts... (aged bronze?), some vertical rundown on those panel joints and bolts, signs of use on the ledge, hinges and valves, some scratches or dings on the main surfaces, the cables could use all of the above? Just a touch on top of what you have, really... In fact, I think I found the perfect example of what I meant! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn_Ghn1md6Z2hZY

Another amazing mech sir. I gotta know, though; what material are you using for the grills on it (the scaffold under the hatch, exhaust covers, etc)?
@thedarkpower5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Thats a thin wire mesh. I think it's aluminium. I have quite a few pieces of it but to be honest it's been sitting in the parts box for so long I can't remember exactly where I got it. It's the sort of thing you can usually get in model shops though so I'm sure you'll be able to find it on ebay.

Grim dark as fuck. Love the profile, though I'm probably biased since I've made similar walkers and hover tanks. I think the blue and orange one is mostly the colour palette that might be an issue - those are much more motor sports, rally, racing sort of colours, whereas the details of the various cannons would suggest it would have more of a military camo scheme.
@thedarkpower5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah the blue and orange are definitely abit 1950s, not military.
