The solution on making the speed of the treadmill dynamic is GENIUS
@pRahvi05 ай бұрын
I thought it from the start but imagined it would oscillate. Turns out, it does oscillate(i.e. speed goes up and down and up again) but it doesn't matter because there's too much going on to get distracted by the alternating speed.

You should try to make a mechanism that acts as a motor, something that can use gravity to continually supply movement to an axle only with a starting movement. Not sure if that is even possible but it just popped into my head.

That would basically be a perpetual motion machine😂

@@Skarrier so then it would be impossible. Maybe it could be done so that it just lasts a really long time and be very efficient.

Spectacular. Problems 4 and 5: battery life and noise. Is there a way to make it a perpetually running display? With it running constantly, how to remove the wine of the motors?
@CHZMN12 күн бұрын
Could you use a cord on the left that just holds the pod in place and the track drives the whole thing? Not that your implementation isn't cool, it's just complex than it needs to be, I think?

What happens if it starts creeping forward or backward relative to the treadmill? It wouldn't fall off because of the colour sensors, but wouldn't it eventually collide with the obstacles? I understand that, in theory, the "feet" would land in the exact same spot every time, but "in theory", it would also walk straight without falling off the side. The side-to-side creep is accounted for, but how about front-to-back creep?
@0LoneTech5 ай бұрын
As seen from 2:16 on, there are curved walls guiding the feet not only side to side but also from the back, nudging its steps to be long enough. Presumably testing showed it tends to step short, not long.
@davidk41455 ай бұрын
I am amazed the walker does not veer off slightly to the left or right as it walks. I would’ve thought it might eventually fall off the treadmill on one side or the other. Must be extremely well balanced and the movement well-controlled. Fantastic.

My only question is why did you put the sensor on the front of the model instead of the back? Could have built an interesting scene in front of the treadmill to help tell the story of where it's going or what it's doing.
