Making a Treehouse , Part 3 Building The Stairs

In this finale video of our how to build a tree house series I demonstrate how we constructed the ladder to get up to the slide deck of the new playhouse. The stairs were built to be a comfortable spacing and climbing angle and made using a cleat method where the stair tread would sit on 2x4 pressure treated lumber cleat sections.

expanding foam for the ground support, that's a great idea for a small lightweight project like this. i never would have thought about using that.

Yes Chris the foam worked great to support the playground ladder. Part of this decision was convenience however I thought the foam would better help seal the wood that was in the ground as well. We will see how it all stands up with time

When building the treehouse steps, or maybe it is more correct to call it a treehouse ladder, I was thinking why bother because most little ones climb up the slides anyway. HAHA
