This is part 3 of the Indoor Treehouse where I explain and demonstrate how to make 3 different kinds of wood ladders: the log ladder, the 2X4 ladder and the cargo net ladder.
The log ladder is definitely my favorite of these three and is the most robust, but the 2x4 ladder is made using the same structural concept.

Hey! I’m making a play ground on one wall 😂 this helped a lot! I will definitely use the rope ladder instead of a wood plank wall ladder😅thx for the help!

This is amazing! I'll use your way of creating the rope ladder instead of getting a bunch of square pad eyes. Super cool playground.. all the cutting is so precise. I liked the fast forwarding in the right sections. Great video. Thank you so much!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. In hindsight, I would probably tie a knot at either end of each rope ladder rung instead of running one continuous rope through the whole thing. It slides around less with the knots.

Thanks for the video, I am building the rope cargo net, what kind of rope are using?

I wouldn't suggest using the one that I did as I discovered that it stretched over time. Try to find a kind that doesn't stretch.

when using natural logs, do you dry them out first? If so, how long do you wait before shaving off the bark?
@EveningWoodworker
@EveningWoodworker 4 ай бұрын
For these logs, 4-5" in diameter, I dried them out with the bark on for about a year before de-barking them. Once they were moved inside my house and installed, some of the larger ones split a bit more, but most of the smaller ones were fine. A round log will almost always eventually split unless you encase it in epoxy due to wood moisture evaporating.

Where did you buy all the logs before you striped all the bark out?

They were actually trees from my neighbors house when they cleared the lot. I asked if I could have these smaller logs and they said I could have them for free!

I'm confused. Do you move this into a tree after you build it?

This video is part of a video series on the indoor treehouse I built in my basement out of trees from my yard. This video is part 3 in the series showing how I built the three ladders that are used to get into the treehouse. Since this is secured to the wall, this is definitely a stationary treehouse and will not go outside. Check out the other videos in the series on my channel!
