Making a wooden sign as a wedding gift using a scroll saw and wooden mosaic

When we were invited to a close friends wedding, we just had to take the opportunity to get in the workshop! To celebrate their love and marriage I designed this wooden sign to create a one of a kind gift.

THE PROCESS
The wording and tree are cut out using my scroll saw. Each piece is then shaped and sanded with my rotary tool and also by hand.
Painted in black acrylic.
The backer of this design is a chevron patterned mosaic. Finished with a dark oak danish oil.
I think it looks gorgeous paired with the matte black design 🖤
