Making an Annatar (Sauron) for MESBG

Wanting a more subtle Dark Lord I decided to make a version of Sauron in a fairer form for the table top- depicting his more Maian appearance, using simple techniques I am very happy with the results.

Nice Video as always. Actually have a "Evil Elivish Blacksmith"-model which is intended to become Sauron one day. But there's so much more stuff to do before starting him.

Thanks My man, he was fun to put together. I was considering going for a more blacksmith vibe. Was thinking about giving him a hammer and anvil but I didn't have that stuff, so I went with a more battle ready version. Very keen to see the "Evil Elvish Blacksmith" though. Where did you get him? I can't find he online.

@@windrushwargamers2745 thanks for asking. :D Well, I've only just gotten into the hobby last year. RN my desk is clear, but I have some Isengard Uruk-hai and Moria goblins coming in. I'm really into kitbashing and finding alternate solutions to meet my needs and so this Sauron/Annatar model is going to be an upcoming project for me too. I really love your vision for the lava below with the overhang.

@@windrushwargamers2745 a few friends asked me if I wanted to start this new hobby and there was really ever one option. :) its a great game. yeah I'm def going for the mace. Such a great idea. I also like your color scheme for Annatar so I think I'll be using that as well.

This is excellent. I'm trying to find an alternative fellowship of the ring as I hate the plastic version that is sold currently. Any ideas on how to create a fellowship more in line with the books?

Thanks Andrew! I agree the plastic kit is awful. This is a good question but it's one that isn't easy to answer. There are a lot of nicer metal sculpts which you can pick up from eBay made previously by GW. But those are based on the PJ films. If you wanted them based on their appearance from the books Mithril Miniatures could be a good bet. Particularly their Fellowship set: mithril.ie/miniatures/mithril-box-sets/mb689-the-lord-of-the-rings-the-fellowship-of-the-ring-32mm-scale-metal-miniatures/ They have miniatures based on the books/ 70's and 80's style art of the characters. I would say that MM are expensive but they actually seem to be the same price as the GW set :) Other than those options it will be tricky as the fellowship are different Races/ sizes/ cultures so there won't be one box that fits all of them-so it will have require some shopping around I think. But let me know if you have any luck browsing and what you think of the Mithril Miniatures set. :)

I will do a kitbash between some Perry Miniature foot Knights and some warriors of the dead, they should combine for something quite interesting. But I will keep an eye out for anything else that might work also. I plan to do a few more projects in between so I can have more time to think about it.

@@jmaccsarmiesofmiddleearth The profile would be so hard lol. Like Sauron/ Smaug/ Balrog mixed together but better some how. Maybe a special rule about breaking people in half like he did to Fingolfin. Or maybe his mace Grond could have a special ability with the smashing holes in the ground thing.

Thanks bro haha, I never made the connection before but i see it now. KK might be my favourite Primarch. That is basically what I was going to do :) great minds think alike, but also mix in some warriors of the dead bits also. That would help the kit bash think.
