It's been a while since I just created with no hard deadline. I finally can make this series I have temporarily named "Birds of Technology". It has been a series I have wanted to create since December! Today we are making an art series featuring nature themed art! It's not my usual style or angle but I had a vision for these pieces and definitely wanted to just go for it!
What do you think? Let me know below!

Love it. Make me think of stained glass. Glass strips fused together. Feels like you are looking through a coloured glass window to the birds outside on a grey winters day ❤

Thank you so much, sometimes it's harder to work simpler like this as even the smallest thing out of line can affect the composition heavily! Thanks for watching ❤️

I loved all three. I'm a bird fan but don't use a lot of them in collage...go figure. The combination of the B&W with those wonderful color strips work magic together.

Thank you for sharing. Your use of the negative portion of cutouts has inspired me to be more aware of how i cut out my images. It never occurred to me to utilize them. Also you reminded me of the power of cutting images into strips. Great video!

The negative portion can often make an even better piece than the one I am actually trying to make 😋 funny how that is. Glad this served as a reminder!

LOVE those Collages. The colors and themes go so well together. As to your question about recurring symbols/elements: for me it's insects and bugs. Maybe I'm drawn to the colors or the abstract forms, idk 😅

Thank you! OMG another animal motif! I could definitely see that, they have really beautiful shapes that other animals and objects do not have. I'm glad I am not alone!

I love these! When I'm working with strips like this I also like to balance things out with circles (I have some different sized circle cutters so they're always perfectly round and sometimes all a piece needs is one little element to add colour or pattern but not draw the focus from the piece). I've really liked seeing you make more abstract pieces with colour and shape, I find them the most fun to make

I had a circle cutter phase! They are excellent! It's nice to have a way to experiment with different shapes. Glad you are enjoying them!

Leah this trypyich of pieces look great together,I find when I'm creating my pieces a single image isn't enough to t=realise my idea visually so often a series will emerge. The minimal look of the three pieces really works too and the mix of monochrome and colour is more subtle visually too,Sometimes it's good to do something that takes you out of a creative comfort zone,as it gives you a new way of working visually and the original idea can change or refine itself as you are creating the pieces..Its great that we get to see you create in real time as well. what about "Woven Aviary" as a title because it alludes to birds weaving twigs etc to build their nests, but also alluds to how you created the pieces as well.(matt) P.s am again inspired by your May prompt words list,I'm finding I get some ideas imediately looking at the words, then other ideas happen as I'm makng pieces for new pieces, like one idea somehow triggers another, which I guess is the whole point of a prompt, that it tiggers/prompts ideas! @@flanzella it would be great to see a video of you creating pieces from your prompts and I think it would inspire others to work with them too,as before I have created a board on my Pinterest for the May prompts(Matt)p.s you asked about images that appear in our art but that we have no explanations why,for me it's Halos,I often give figures or creatures Halos,no idea why but it just feels like a right thing to add.

I do sell them, you can check out my other videos but this one specifically talks about copyright: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoW6kqFpbtl9bdE I do a lot of sociatal critique within my work and only use parts of images to help avoid this. It's not a perfect method but it makes me feel comfortable. I hope this helps!
