Nice video! I felt the cheap die struggles in my soul. Not sure if this was your issue or not but for anyone else reading this if you're buying a set of cheap dies look for a short but fairly aggressive taper in one side of the thread cutters. My first set of cheap dies were technically rethreading dies that didn't have this taper so starting a thread from nothing with them was nearly impossible.

Thanks man! Yep, those cheap dies can be a real pain! I have had the same problem with that little lead in, but didn't know what the problem as at the time, just thought I was having a bit of a moment 😂 But thanks for checking out the video!

Thanks mate! It is interesting how they work, it’s really simple, but a really clever design, thanks for checking out the video!

Very cool project, That's an art piece once you make it yourself. I was not expecting this sort of project., but you very often move thru a very diverse sort of list. Always something new and different from your channel, that's probably why I like it so much. I also like the I'm making it I'm not sure how but I'm making it. Keep up the good work...

Haha if I didn't follow the "making something I don't know how to make" I think it would get boring very fast. I'm defiantly on a bit of a tool/machining thing for the next couple of projects, with a lot of figuring it out! As always I really appreciate you following along mate, thanks again!

Automatic center punches were never invented for making deep markings in material. They are used for finding the center of the two cross lines made by scribe.Tip angle(60°) is different than angle on drill punch(90°) which you use after to make mark bigger.

Well there you go, I didn’t really know that, I always thought they were supposed to be the start for a drill, not for a different punch, thanks for the tip!
