I just want J Rent to thank for making these tutorials. You, my man, inspired me to make beats once again and I even used some of your tips to make 'em better. Thank you man. May your channel grow even more and inspire newer producers to make good shit like this.

Been a minute since I been in the channel but I wanted to come back to thank you for all of your outstanding content! Been watching for what seems to be some years now and thinking bout it is crazy, from me getting my first mic and recording with friends to now having tracks on major platforms with more than positive numbers. I don't mix my own music anymore but you definitely helped me keep my head down and stay focused when I was just trying to figure everything out. full circle plus some,stay on yo shii💯

Here’s a challenge! Mix a beat with high end on melody for once.
@JRent5062 жыл бұрын
You mean I shouldn't use a high cut on everything? Lol, I don't typically follow any rules or formulas i just do what sounds right to me. With that being said, I know there have been times when I haven't cut the high end on everything. But, if you find something about my mixes that don't mesh with your preferences then just don't adopt that technique in your own mixes. There's no right or wrong way to do any of this imo. Based on conventional wisdom the way X's songs like "look at me" were mixed aren't technically "mixed right" but people loved them not only despite their unconventional mix styles but because of them. At the end of the day maybe I have been too heavy handed with the high cuts lately, maybe not, but in any case it doesn't concern me too much because music is art and art is subjective. Im making a beat, not trying to cure cancer.

@@JRent506 this seems like a really aggressive response to a rather joking comment. i think they meant just try to make a song without high cutting most things because it can be a good sound you haven't seemed to try yet. you should just do whatever sounds right but sometimes you just need someone to mention something to make you realise it. be more open minded if you can lol
@JRent5062 жыл бұрын
@@femboyjungle9693 It's not something I do all the time though. I have plenty of beats where I leave the high end alone on at least some of the instruments. E.g. I didn't touch the highs on the main piano melody in my Joyner Drill Remix video from not that long ago. Same goes with my vintage drill video where Yonko and I made another song together a few weeks back. It's just literally not something I always do. I wouldn't even have argued with it if it was some feedback mentioning something I actually overlooked or never thought of before, but that's not the case.

I record my vocals in my room. There's video footage of me doing just that in my "making a rap album in 96 hours" video if you want a more visual demonstration of what the process looks like.
