I usually have the kick peak at -6, snare at -9 to - 12 and 808 to -12 or a bit lower. When you have drums peaking so loud, you force the limiter on the master bus to compress these peaks. Might sound good, might not. By the way the beat included here is dope
@JRent5063 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, yeah the particular level of each element in the mix will vary from producer to producer and from beat to beat for sure.
@Adam-g-uk3 жыл бұрын
Try gain staging with a vu meter bro, get each instrument to hit at -18db then boost back up with a limiter on the master...-18 is the sweet spot for most plugins

i leave pink noise levelling 2 years ago it doesnt work for me i prefer good gainstaging and output level balancing.I prefer summing on drum bus insted of softclipping everything on drums i prefer subs little bit stereo on hook like the weeknd i prefer analyzing good sounding tracks mid side mode on span and i prefer 1 clean sounding 1 characteristic and 1 glue compressors instead of using 3 same compressors and eqs i learned stem mastering on skrillex ableton video 1 year ago and thats working really good.i make %90 of my busses have character eqs like ssl eqs etc Anolog obsession plugins are free go check it out if u need free characteristic plugin stuff.Thats my tips i hope i helped someone this video reminds me my old mixing chain

@user-lp9qj7ul1g3 жыл бұрын
there is no rules in mixing and mastering, use ur ears, pay close attention to small details and overall sound. The best thing you can do is getting pro at using EQ, compression, saturation etc. meaning that you know what compression does or when to use low shelf or high shelf in EQ for example :)

personally I like to make my 808, kick and clap/snare are the louder part of the beat usually putting the kick and 808 around -6 to -3 dB (note: I also put soft clipper on my kick and 808 and crank them up) . Also, there's no perfect way to mix a beat so, try to find a method that sounds nice and that works for you.

This is dope, need to try the pink noise! Btw guys, if you feel like you're losing the 808's presence when turning the channel mono, FEAR NOT! You can easily fix this in a number of ways. One is duplicating the 808 and EQ out the low-end and keep it stereo. Easiest way though is using a plugin like Ozone, where you can stereo separate each frequency zone

I have a problem with mixing part. I try searching up good mixing tutorial but all of them have a differente type of mixing and some of them are so boring. Also they are all using differente plugings. And yes I know there is no right rule to mix
@cipa8573 жыл бұрын
With time you'll get your mixing habits and you'll stick to some plugins you like
@buzy38543 жыл бұрын
I think what is happening is that you don’t quite understand the fundamentals/basics of mixing. When you do that, you start to notice that every tutorial is doing the same thing but in a different way, they’re all trying to find a space for each sound in the track and make it all go well together. After you notice that, you start to pick your favorite techniques from the tutorials and mix and match them, which develops your personal mixing style. Same goes for plugins, for example, every equalizer plugin does the same thing (except if they’re different types of equalizers, because analog EQs and digital EQs have different properties). Only differences between the same types of plugins are the interface, and sometimes some plugins have an extra feature or two. In the end, it all comes together with practice. I hope you’re able to figure it all out soon, good luck!
@Subhash_bhatt3 жыл бұрын
Understand from basic bro because if you will not understand the basics you are not gonna get anything from mixing masterclasses. These are some basic steps 1. Leveling different sounds according to the genre and your personal feel. 2.giving space to each elements and see if there any frequency colliding in a mix. 3 stereo imaging and separating the sounds. Pan the instruments left or right to give them more space but remember that dont pan the sounds which have low frequency under 100HZ. There are many more things to look at but these are the basics.
