I love that you specifically said you were going to take a pic of the wood once you were happy with it to refer to after removing & weighing it down and then totally forgot? 😂 And you're so right w/ not worrying about planting the hair grass too deep. My carpet will send root shots at least 4" into the the bottom of substrate and then you'll see this little green shoot pushing all the way up to the surface. It's such a wild little plant!

Love this scape and it’s just going to get better and better with a bit of time. I know it’s a small aquarium but sometimes it looked far bigger due to the actually scape giving it great depth. Another super job. 😊

Looks awesome 🎉 You asked about video style for the future; I prefer the slower style, as much detail and explanation as possible, but then I'm just starting out and want to learn. In the beginning everything is so nerve-wracking, you make it look so easy. Thanks for great content 👊👊👊 I enjoy your super down-to-earth and comical personality. 😉 Cheers from South Africa 🇿🇦

I’ve been using the paper towel and glue method. It works fairly well though this last project I had to redo hardscape and glueing 3 times for it not to float and break up.

Really nice job, love the aquascape!!! The video was well done and learned a lot especially the hack to glue driftwood to rocks using paper towels.

Have you tried taking one of the O rings and placing it on the stem under the mounting bracket for the light? Might give better stability if you sandwich the bracket and post with them 🤔

A tank like that is perfect for a nano species, something like a few pygmy rasboras or green neons. With a few floating plants it would be perfect for a Betta as well. Edit: Either way, it's a great tank.

the "economical" tank, using a ton of very expensive UNS ControSoil... But seriously, it is a good, informative video, and people can always sub in whatever substrate is in their budget. I personally do really like ControSoil, I've had great luck with it as it doesn't seem to affect my pH where Fluval and ADA do. I'm already grooving a super low pH so the soil not mucking around with it more is appreciated, but it is pricey stuff.✌️ Edit; at the end of the vid you said the tank doesn't look super super good, but you're selling yourself short! It seems like you were going for something readily attainable for a beginner in planted tanks and the tank did accomplish that in a super super good way! So it is a super super good tank. 👏👏

@AQUAPROS8 ай бұрын
That might be tough, really depends on how much yur fillin it with... lots of hardscape is what really adds up 🥵
@annepettit38558 ай бұрын
I’m doing that-first for a snapping turtle, or “dirtle”, so plants will be hornwort, which she doesn’t eat, and maybe a bit of water hyacinth. Light is a Nicrew for about $75. I could only find the tank for $275 after tax! Another couple hundred for a decent stand! A Fluval FX6 for about another three hundred….. Pool filter sand for maybe $60 as I had to get it online, some wood for about $40 - but hey, free rocks from the back yard. It’s a budget build if you can get equipment for free. Or maybe on Craigslist if you trust that. If you have to buy new, you need a pretty big budget. Not that fish would need an FX6 but still…….😅
@stevennguyen49938 ай бұрын
Anything can be "on a budget". The question is whether or not you can do it cheaply. You can "budget" $700 for a planted 75gal, but that isn't exactly cheap. Most planted tanks less than 10gal will cost between $150-$200. Still not cheap, but that's about what you'd spend for a week's worth of grocery for a guy who lives alone.
