Take a look at the direction your spools are unwinding with the double needle. If you're getting the threads tangled, turn one of the spools around so they are unwinding in the same direction and don't get twisted around each other.

Yep, it’s definitely a spool direction issue.

When I was younger, I made virtually all of my clothing. I saw no need for sewing anything other than "last minute". 😁 How many times did I wear shirts tucked in (unhemmed), sleeves rolled up (no time to add cuffs), and slacks hemmed with iron on tape! I miss those days. Fitting problems with my aging body makes for numerous hours in the sewing room to get anything to fit.

So cute! I can only wear a turtle neck for an hour before I start pulling at it. It's very annoying because they are so cozy and warm but I just don't like the feeling of something close around my neck.

That whisky merino is delicious. No other word for it. I was tossing up between corduroy and denim for a skirt at Spotlight just the other day. Decided on the denim, and by the time I got to the nearest intersection I'd passed two beautiful corduroy skirts and was regretting my choice. And now your skirt pops up in my feed. I think the universe is telling me to make a corduroy skirt.

Accidently managed to post my comment before I was ready 😅 I was suggesting that you interface the waistband to help keep it’s shape when you wear it. It would also work better if you sew the buttonhole horizontally instead of vertical on the waistband. I really liked the way you put in pockets! Don’t you ever try your projects on during the process? I wouldn’t dare sew the whole thing up and hope for the best, I would be so sad if it didn’t fit or had ugly creases or pulls. Looking forward to your next make, they are always inspiring and I love your colour scheme!

Hi Janelle! With your twin needle, when threading one thread will hook into the right side and the other thread hooks into the left side (the thread guide) and then you thread your needle. Looks like you have both threads going through the same one. I used to do this (didn't realise there was a thread holder on the other side) and mine used to snap all the time. Hope this helps! Love the skivvy!

That skirt is adorable! I have three little kids - 2, 4, & 6, so I'd have to make my skirt longer because I'm always running after them, but a mini-version looks so much cuter, especially with tights! I'll have to make a shorter version to wear on date night!

Hi. I loved how the turtle neck looked with the bigger full skirt when you tried it on right after making it. Lovely work. I don't know if you've already done this, but a tutorial on using the overlocker for beginners, if possible, would be nice please🥺 if it fits to the general theme of your channel. Otherwise, love your work and the clarity with which you explain the sewing process. It's inspiring and easy for us beginners to follow.

When using the twin needle it works better if you only put one thread through the thread guide before threading the needle. Skip the thread guide for the other. This helps with skipped stitches and breaking threads.

you did great and they both look great. I'd been looking at that floral cord on spotlight too, but it's 're really not my color. I'm so glad to see it used and looking amazing. on the twin needle threads snapping, your threads might bet twisting together before they can reach the needle, so what I'd do is take the treads all the way out and individually rethread the threads from the spool down to make sure there are no twists. that should meant that it takes longer before another twist can appear and before the threads can snap again. even though they're both going through the same guides you don't want to thread them both at the same time cause that can put twists in. sorry if you already knew this and did it off screen where I couldn't see. but, you know, it's always better to share ideas than it is to just not.

I love the colours you’ve chosen for this outfit! I recently made a pair of trousers in exactly the same tone of warm light brown, like whisky or brandy 🤩 If you don’t mind I would give you a couple of tips - You don’t have to set the tension to zero to do the ”cheety” way of threading your overlocker, lifting your presserfoot releases all the tension. I would also interface the waistband as it

Both of these look so good together.I am 68 and it is great to see you cutting the marking lines out rather than snipping them in and also the way you insert your zip. This was the traditional way I was taught and I think a lot of people don't know this.Cutting the marking lines out(so they form triangles) mean the seams etc. are more secure as you are not cutting into your seam allowance. It will also prolong the life of your garments.Basting your seam before inserting the zip ensures the zip is flat.Metal zips also look good exposed.Would you be able to do a tutorial on how you made your pockets?.Have you any tips on matching fabric colours when you buy online? Thank you to My Charlie Quinn on her advice for twin needle sewing.
