Do you overcomplicate projects? How do you keep your solutions simple?

Great idea using conduit. one thing to help with the support is to reverse the angled bar. Instead of having it on the top which creates an outspread (stretched) if placed on the bottom you have a compressed support. Only problem would be the vacuum hose and handle will be higher up. Overall a great idea. Thank you

You are absolutely right and I wish I had thought of that. I might need to flip it over. Would just need to add a handle so it was still easy to rotate around. Right now it’s just within reach above head, but minor problem to solve for the added strength. Thanks for the tip!

I absolutely over complicate projects! That's why I do sketches and try to simplify. Sometimes I have to build the thing to get the insight to make it simpler (actually make and use it to see i'm an idiot). Great project and great job with the video! Keep it going!

It’s so easy to do isn’t it?!? Sketches are a great way to keep it simple. I was definitely in that same boat having to make it to see the flaws in the first attempt. Thank you so much! I appreciate it

Awesome video man, it deserves a few zeros behind the view count total! I'm looking for ideas to make a boom arm for my shop and yours is a really great alternative to plywood

Why thank you so much! It’s so handy in a small shop! I’ve used it for dust collection, but also to hang a couple of small things while spray painting them.

Would this set up support a 4" diameter hose?
@SouthernStyleDIY2 ай бұрын
I didn’t test it directly with 4”, but it should be plenty strong for it. Using a tube would be better than the hose that I did too. That’s on my list to change out sometime “soon”

I'm 6'8" and my shop ceiling is 7'. It sucks in the wrong way.

Oh that would be so frustrating! That’s barely enough room for lights!

@SouthernStyleDIY indeed. Its 12x12, but it's far from the worst part lol. Summers coming, and with it comes the 125f days with +85% humidity. Lol. But it exists. (Wife is a nurse so we keep cool bags of IV fluid in fridge just in case. Lol.)

@carterscustomrods oh no!! And I thought it got hot in Georgia, but not near that bad!! Yeah that’s a fantastic thing to keep on hand

You need to tone down the music please pal in your future vids if you're keen to boost your subs, I found it way too loud and an unnecessary distraction.
@SouthernStyleDIY7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Was it just the volume of the music, tone, or both?

For informational content such as this, I feel music is a distraction. Music sets a mood, which can be ok for a visual experience.

@rivernet62 gotcha! I really appreciate the feedback and make sure it syncs up better with tone. Thanks again!

Music is fine. It rocks like your enthusiasm. Mixed well w/hour dialogue.
